Hello all,

Just had a long chat with my wife asshe just came out of the embassy from her interview. She passed in flying colors....       .Her experience wasn't bad

at all rather it was way much better than she anticipated. Everything that was asked from her was relevant and we prepared well for those questions. In fact you don't need to even memorize those. Anyway, will try to write down what she told me; however, she's so ecstatic that I am sure she forgot to say few things now that may come to her later: Anyway, from landing in the embassy door step and wait outside in a line to coming out from the embassy took around 2.5 hours, which is incredibly good.

InterviewTime: 8:00 AM. Was asked to appear 30 minutes before the interview time.

Reached at theembassy: Little before 7:00 PM. The street was clear and there wasn’t muchtraffic, hence reached little earlier than anticipated J

Summaryof interview:

Almost15-20 candidates were ahead in the line.

They were takeninside around 7:20 AM. As I assumed and heard from my predecessors, there were three phases:

Phase1 - A gentleman took her passport, interview letter, and 2 copy of passportsize picture. Also asked her the following questions:

a. When did you get married?

b. How did you meet with each other?

c. What does your husband do?

d. Where does he live?

e. What do you do?

f. How many siblings do you have?

g. Where does your sister live in USA?

h. Gave her the medical report (sealed) and told her that she will be needing this when she comes to USA

After this the gentleman told her that if the interview goes well, she should askfor her original documents.

After that she was asked to wait. 5-10 minutes later she was called in anotherroom.

Phase 2 - Fingerprinting

There was nothing on this phase, they took her fingerprints and told her towait in the same area.

She waited for another 15-20 minutes and was called for the final interview

Phase 3 - Final Interview. The CO conducted the interview with her in brokenBangla. I guess that gave her an edge

This is what happened in there:

CO - Please raise your right hand please and repeat "I will speak thetruth, nothing but the truth.........."

Wife: repeated as instructed

CO - Sign DS 230part II

Wife: She knew where to sign.

CO - When did youget married

Wife: Answers

CO - What does yourhusband do?

Wife: Answers

CO - Do you know where does he live?

Wife: Answers. She even knows the last four digits of my zip code, LOL

CO - Who else lives there? Anyoneelse from your family lives in there (It was in the initial questionnaire, hence CO asked this question)

Wife: Answers

CO - What is the name of your sister and her husband

Wife: Answers

CO - Can I see some wedding pictures?

Wife: Tries to pick up the album (she was allowed to take the album inside. Themyth of not allowing it inside isn't true. If you take a 20 lbs sharp edged metallicalbum that could be an issue) from the bag she carried with her. we got thisbag from Singapore and the word is clearly visible. There wasn't much spacebetween the glass she struggled a bit to push it inside (we had few wedding, honeymoon and pictures from other occasions in there). While doing that the COasked:

CO - When did yougo to Singapore (it was also in DS230 and the initial questionnaire provided byUS Embassy, Dhaka Bangladesh)?

Wife: Answers

Why did you go to Singapore? Just for travel or something else

Wife: Answers

CO looks at the pictures, smiled and then struggled to push it back out. Thenhe continued working on the computer for few minutes and afterwards told mywife:

CO - Congratulation, your visa has been approved.

Gave her the token and asked to pick up visa next day. At the same time, hereturned her original marriage certificate. My wife was speechless and then profuselythanked him for his time and asked him about the other original documents (herbirth certificate and nikah-nama both in English and Bengali version). The COsaid, it's not with her so if she can go to the window where phase 1 tookplace.

She goes back to window 1 and told them that CO sent her here for the otherdocuments. After looking for those for few minutes, they found rest of thoseand returned all the original documents.

I am happy, feeling like I just climed and stick the flag at the top of mount everest        . Today was exactly my 9.00 months (my NOA1 date was October 25) and I am relieved of this ordeal. I know compared to many, it was a very smooth ride without one hiccup, however, I am happy that it's over an I wish it gets even easier for other. The reason I am sharing my experiences so that someone similar to myself can get some tips, the way I got from many that paved the way or me. Proud of my better half for successfully pulling this over. Glad that along with me, she is relieved as well.

Thanks to all who helped me, who shared their experience that helped me to find answers, to those who shared their sad stories that helped me to prepare better.
