Hi everyone,

I recently read the responses to another quick approval from Vermont, and I know people were very frustrated because they have been waiting for months. I thought I would write in anyway about our approval because I was shocked. I also thought people might be interested in the VSC timeline. I received 3 emails today from immigration saying they have approved our case as of September 12th. We got our NOA1 on August 20th so it was a very short turn around!

We are currently living together in Mexico so we weren't dying for the NOA2, and now we are not sure how this process is going to proceed. We need to pull together his paperwork, and we might be missing an important piece. We won't be ready to go for a while, and we don't even have the cash right now to fly to Ciudad Juarez! Ahhh! If there are any other American/Mexican couples in Mexico who have gone through the interview process, I would love to hear from you!

Regarding my subject, if you have a family member or somebody in the Vermont area it might be a good idea to try sending your app through their address....I don't know what is going on in Vermont, but it is something good!

Kristen

Congratulations!!! :thumbs::thumbs:(F)

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Congratulation on the approval :dance::dance::dance:

I know that Vermont is famous for quick responses...It is just so unfair that other service center are lagging behind...I went quickly through Vermont and felt so bad when others were still waiting...Best of luck with the rest of your journey...

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm always happy for anyone who clears the petition approval. It should be as quick as it's been for you. I'm truly glad you've had such good fortune. Best of luck with what comes next--with organizing and figuring it all out. I know you're working on that now. Hang in there!!

:dance::D:dance::D:dance:

January 2004: Met Laurent at the Bibliothèque nationale in Paris

February 2004: We became an actual couple

January 29th, 2006: I left France to return to the United States--AWFUL to say goodbye!

June 2006: Finally convinced Laurent that a K-1 visa would be more time-effective than trying to get an H-1

August 1st, 2006: The K-1 petition is finally in the mail and on its way to Nebraska...WooHoooo!! And yes, I remembered to attach the check! :-)

August 3rd, 2006: USPS online tracking shows that my petition (sent certified) was received at the NSC at 5:05am

August 14th, 2006: NOA1 received USPS!! (I-129F recv'd at CSC: 8/4; NOA date: 8/10; last touched: 8/11)

October 2nd, 2006: I MISTAKENLY thought we had an approval...False alarm...Back to waiting...

October 3rd, 2006: TOUCHED!!

October 4th, 2006: REALLY AND TRULY APPROVED!!! Email notification lists 10/3 as the NOA2 date.

Later that same day: TOUCHED...AGAIN! Hope that means I'm in a cozy box and moving to NVC this week...

October 10th, 2006: Received official NOA2 via snail mail.

October 19th, 2006: Case received at NVC!! AWESOME!!

October 20th, 2006: Case forwarded to Paris!! DHL says two shipments were headed that way. Must be in there somewhere...

October 27th, 2006: Received official receipt letter from NVC via USPS.

I know, I know, Vermont is the way to go.

In the other forum that I frequent (dominicanstotheusa), I have already seen two Vermonters (one filed at the same time as me, and one filed after me) get approved. Both of them should be on the 27,000+ waiting list at the Consulate by October, while I still dangle here in CSC neverland.

I am insanely jealous!!!

What a difference a service center makes!!!

Congrats though!!! And best wishes for a speedy process from here on out!!

6/29 - NEW I-129 mailed to CSC

7/21 - NOA1 issued

9/21 - finally ... my first touch!!

9/21 - NOA2 issued
