Hey VJ peeps, it's friday and I am home obsessing, daydreaming and fantasizing about recieving my NOA2. I have read a lot of info related to the K1 process but I don't see much on coping skills. Surviving this journey takes more than patience.

Please add suggestions to this thread on how to survive....

We all need to know how you are dealing and coping with being apart from your Fiance/Fiancee.

I've spent a lot of time making plans for our wedding. I have my gown, I've designed the wedding bulletins (programs), picked colors and brain-stormed about ideas for centerpieces for the tables at the reception, and literally worked out every detail of our wedding including the music for the ceremony and the reception. There is so much to plan for and be excited about...and it makes the time go by much faster. I also pray A LOT. It helps me to believe that someone bigger than me is in control of everything that happens (helps me worry less about things that could go wrong). It's easy to get discouraged when you read some of the posts on this website about denials and RFE's. Don't get me wrong...I have learned a lot from posts here, and I have been equally encouraged when I see posts from people who get their NOA2's and visa approvals, too. Other than that....I get up every morning and I go to work, spend time with my friends and family and of course, spend as much time on the phone and Skype with my fiance as I possibly can.

When people ask me about the visa process and the time it takes, I just smile and say, "It's not for the faint of heart...only the strong survive." I have every confidence that my fiance is worth waiting for...and I keep my eyes on the day that we will finally be together.

Good luck to you....I hope everything goes smoothly for you. :)

I have kept busy (some of the time) by putting together information for the interview...copies of chat logs and other proof of ongoing relationship and a lot of time talking/chatting to my fiance. We take photos to email each other of day-to-day stuff, its funny how the little things make you feel closer. There are ok days and 'not so ok' days and you just have to keep moving and try to keep busy with any chores or hobbies you may have. Look for the April filers thread on here. Best of luck with the journey.

Chynna

Mine is a little different. After I got here to the US we married and then he left on deployment so i am constantly dealing with being apart. He is forever leaving and coming back and has hardly been inside the US since we were married almost 2 years ago.

Basically it is just daily life and you " get used to it " you go about your things that you have to do, run your errands do your hobbies, work, go out with friends etc. You just deal with it an put yourself in the things you like to do and being with your friends.

We all have different formulas to cope with it. I am planning the wedding too but without a date :crying: .

So yeah, besides all the obsessing and logging constantly into the USA Immigration page and checking the trends on Igor's list, life goes on ;nothing but patience to deal with the waiting.

We are all on the same boat but sooner or later, hopefully sooner ,we will have our beloved one with us. If we waited so long a little wait shouldn't matter.

Yes the wedding...I have thought about it but no real planning yet. I think this is a great way to cope and deal with this journey.

This week I plan on working on my evidence binder. I read lots of great tips on how to make it look organized. It was a helpful post.
