How do you know if you need a co sponsor? If i make close to 40,000 a yr and it's just me and my fiance will i need a co sponsor? Also will i have to show bank statements and assets?

I think its 1.5% above the poverty level thats required, so you are fine. You don't have to show if you have the income.

If you have assets like 401K, mutual funds and all, you can list them if you can provide proof.

Good luck!

You will not need a co-sponsor. Please read the K-1 guide here. As you can see in the guide, you will need bank statements and other financial information to complete the process. You might want to start collecting things like financial records early. Just use the guides for each step, and you will have the basics pretty well laid out. Just click on the word Guides in the blue bar at the top of the page. Good Luck.

Thats what I'm planning to do, fill them out on my computer and send to her to look over and sign the parts that need to be.

There's a section, at least on the DS-156 (haven't checked the others yet) on who the form was prepared by so I'm going to put my name in there.

thanks everyone...i just want to make sure..also for the forms (package 3 and 4) my fiance has to fill out and have ready for the interview..could i mail them to him instead along with the package i sent to USCIS?

packet 3 and packet 4 never are sent to USCIS.

I-134 is needed, along with tax data, income data, on interview day at the IV unit.

Good Luck ! (my apologies if I've misread your question)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Hello there! As for the poverty guideline... you do indeed make above the 125% requirement. For your own clarification and as a reference you can go to the USCIS website and look at form I-864P Poverty Guidelines.

As for Packet 3 and 4, you can fill out any forms you know are required and send them to your fiance. Just make sure they are signed by you (if necessary) and then your fiance can sign them where required. Also, make sure your fiance adheres to the instructions on each form as some of them require they be signed at the interview.

Best wishes.

I have my pay stubs so now i will wait for the approval letter to get the letter from my employers...

Don't forget Nemata your 125% over is determined by your employer so yes that is quite important, along with pay stubs and preferably 3 years tax transcripts to show a trend.

The bank statement is not techinically necessary and neither is showing assets but if you have them I would flaunt them if you can show proof cause it can't hurt.
