Whats the best day for doing POE?

My hubby is going to do his POE at the end of this month...we really want to spend 4th of July together. Is doing his POE at Pearson on a Saturday or Sunday a problem...do you think it's busy? Whats the best day of the week to do this and is it better early in the morning or middle of the day or night? Or dosen't really matter.

Doesn't matter...the day before july 4th might be a tad busy or not. Just arrive early and he should give himself plenty of time to go through the POE process. We've been through the border on July 4th and it's been dead.

Did you do your POE of entry with your spouse? or they were alone. I really want to fly over there to be with him at the airport. I know it won't make a difference. I don't know I guess I'm just nervous. Do you think it makes a difference being there or not?

How are you going to fly to be with him there at the airport? You mean once he's left customs? You being there won't matter at all, not being there doesn't matter either. I POE'd at LAX but had a couple more flights till I arrived at Houston. Wasn't even an issue/questioned that he wasn't there. They just process your paperwork. He's already been approved so it's just a filing/processing thing now.

You being with him won't make a difference. It's just a straight-forward process. He'll need to add an additional 2-3 hours onto his planned airport arrival time in order to process through. Time at secondary isn't predictable. It all depends on circumstances. It could take him 15 mins.... it could take him 2 hours. I would think that there would be heightened security around any significant US holiday so just a heads up for that. He can POE alone without any problem. I'm not even sure they would admit you with him in the secondary. They never asked where my fiance was. You are basically approved for entry when you come in with a visa... POE is then a technicality. Unless you carry something illegal in your luggage they have no reason to question/deny anything.

I arrived at Pearson's customs around 8:45 and was out by 9:15. I would strongly advise him to get there early before it starts to backlog. It's a first come first serve basis.

Usually the hardest part at the POE is the waiting!!! Sure there is a chance one could be denied, but thats more along the lines if you lied on ur applications and somehow managed to sneak thru the process--then get to the border and they find out you had a criminal past of some sorts and the border POE officer finds out!! As someone suggested above, give extra time for POE at Pearson. It'####### and miss. Secondary was full when I went through, and I waited hours and was minutes from missing my flight. Others have gone through in under an hour. It just depends. Better to be safe than sorry Good luck!

I'm not sure which exact date your hubby is fixin to leave Canada but good luck (if it hasn't happened already!)
