NVC doesn't have our approved petition yet

We have been keeping our hopes high for an early expedition of our case because of my daughter's age-ing out (21 this january 2007). We sent an email to NVC relative to this last September 6 after we received our physical NOA2 (Sept. 5; email NOA2 approval decision was sent to us August 31 telling us that our case has been approved August 30). We were hoping that they could assign a case number immediately then facilitate it's expedition at the U.S. Embassy in Manila.

However, we received an odd email from NVC...what is happening????...is our case lost in the mail????

yes it can take a little while for the petition to be assigned a case number. check back in a few days

Especially when it's CSC forwarding the cases to NVC.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

NVC can take up to four weeks to receive the petition from CSC and assign a case number. CSC sent ours on August 18. We are still waiting.

It seems tha cases sent from the service centers between the 1st and the middle of the month take longer to process and those sent towards the end of the month only a week.

Yeah, apparently they mail out stuff in batches.

I would not be too concerned... I kept checking at the NVC to see if they received our case. 21 Days after our NOA2 I sent an email to the NVC regarding our case and asked them to check it out. Day 28, after receiving our NOA2, I received and email saying that the case was processed and sent on to the Embassy. NVC did not even acknowledge receipt of our papers. On the upside, after receiving the email reply, we received packet 3 only 2 business days after they replied to my email. :)

Be patient, it takes a lot of work for them to be inefficient. Good luck

Living in NE Romania with Fiance and her Son.

3-27-2006 I-129F Sent : to Nebraska Service Center

4-12-2006 I-129F NOA1 :

6-1-2006 Touched sort of...... sent to CSC (California Service Center) like many others

6-14-2006 CSC emailed me a notice of receipt of my 129f (transfered from NSC)

6-17-2006 Touched

7-3-2006 IMBRA RFE received at home

7-5-2006 Mailed IMBRA RFE back, Also my file was touched for the first time since 6-17

7-13-2006 Received email that IMBRA RFE was received by CSC

7-14-2006 Touched

8-10-2006 I-129F NOA2 APPROVED !!! (no touches before approval, as many have spoke of)

9-08-2006 NVC case approved:

: I started calling the NVC automated line about 2 weeks after NOA2. They never had any information for me or acknoledged that they received our case, so I sent an email to the NVC on 9-01-2006. On 9-08-2006 I received a reply to that email saying that our case was processed and forwarded to the US Embassy (Romania) on 8-31-2006. They also included the case number in the reply to my email inquiry. I guess I would have not been notified by the NVC..... very strange.

9-6-2006 Romanian Embassy received our K1 paperwork.

9-11-2006 Received packet 3 in the mail

10-11-2006 Set appointment for interview by calling the Romanian Embassy !!! ONLY SET AN APPOINTMENT AFTER HAVE ALL DOCMUMENTS ARE COMPLETE !!!

10-18-06 Visa interview - Visa granted :)

11-7-06 Welcome to America
