No words of approval or denial from the Consul

Hello Everyone, I am done with the Visa Interview at the US EMbassy Manila today and I was on great hopes that we will get an approval. Easy question, very few and very basic. Unfortunately the American Woman Consul did not say the word "approved" or "denied". She says she is looking for something missing and wait until my number will be called again to know what it is then I will be fine. So I went to the window where my name and number was called, this Filipino guy just explain to me that there is nothing or no more documents needed, rather it will be on internal review. I asked until when? And he answered just wait until we hear from them soon after the internal review is done, if all goes well then Visa will be issued immediately. Now here is the hardest part, since there is no specific time frame as when will be the period of waiting, what shall we do next. . . I mean our course of action. Just worried since this K1 Approval Petition from the USCIS is good only for 4 months from the time it was approved, in short ours will be good only until August 20, 2010. If we can not hear from them as early as that date then horrible will happen, we mite go back from the very first step and this is something ridiculous.

Any one please who have the same case with ours, we would like to hear from your advice. Thank you and GOD BLESS.

Since you are on internal review, your USCIS approval expiration date doesnt matter any more, so dont worry about it. I guess they just have some checks they want to run, hopefully you'll be done even before August. In faith I am saying Congratulations in advance!

Well, we are in the same situation, I had my interview last May 13, 2011, the embassy just told me to wait until I can hear from them. So, today is exactly one month of patiently waiting for my visa. They are just doing document verification.

I hope everything will be okay.!!

You can contact the US Embassy in Manila to follow-up on the status of your visa. Make sure to get connected to the Immigrant Visa Unit. They're the ones handling the K Visas. All the best!!!

I am in the SAME position. My fiance and I went to our interview in the Bahamas on May 25th. We were never told approved or denied. The one CO officer told my fiance at the end that they need to review the case over and requested more information - his OPT authorization after he graduated college and some bank records. He asked if he can bring the documents in once he had them and he was told that they would contact him. We were pretty much told "don't call us, we'll call you". VERY FRUSTRATING!! Not to mention, my I-129F petition approval expires on June 24, 2011. I am praying everyday that all goes well. We thought we had an easy case for approval but apparently not. I am so emotional just waiting and not knowing a time frame. I completely understand how you feel. Good luck to you and hopefully we both hear back good news SOON!!! I was looking into contacting my congressman to see if that would help, I am afraid of stepping on anyones toes. I just miss my fiance and want this process over with.

; They did ask for your passport and they kept it right?

It's just an other initial deeper background check to see if ALL the documents are present. It can take a little while since others before you have to wait as well.

I hope you will hear something soon, and receive your VISA as well.

Good luck, and things will just be fine :star:
