Help! UK Embassy Interview Question

Hi there, my fiancé finally got his police certificate in the mail and we were wondering/hoping that if we bring the original and a copy that they will keep the copy after viewing the original so we have the orig. If they keep the original what do we do for the AOS? And do they take it at medical or just look at it there?

I think they will only take your copy. I suppose if they took your original you could just order another one and have it shipped to the U.S.? I'm not positive, though! Hopefully someone will interject with their idea :)

Hi Little_g!

They will give you your original back as for the medical you can give them a copy as well.

When I had my interview they made copy of my documents and gave me back my originals!

Awesome thanks! :) just wondering if it is the same for the UK embassy as it is at the French one. They all operate so differently sometimes but still a good sign that he can keep it. Yay :dance:

Police certs are not required for AOS. Not sure how the medical is getting mixed up in this...

Police certs are not required for AOS. Not sure how the medical is getting mixed up in this...

The medical for a K-1 in London requires a copy of the police certificate.

Little_g - the reception people at the medical took all my originals and photocopied everything, and then passed the originals back to me.

I would apply for 2 originals incase you lose one.

However, I have heard of other people who didn't get to keep the original...not sure if it depends on the person you get?

Make copies. They will take the copy.

If you don't have a copy, then I suppose they would take the original. But you don't want them to do that :)

I took copies of everything for the interview and asked them if they would keep the originals. They told me because I made copies they would take them and not keep the originals. However, I have heard of other people who didn't get to keep the original...not sure if it depends on the person you get?

I had my interview yesterday and they gave me back my original and only kept the copy, and it was the same with my birth certificate. As for the medical they also gave me my original back. Hope this is of some help :)
