:help: I am almost sure I do not need a co-sponsor for my fiance for the K-1 Visa. But I would please like information on what the threshold is for sponsorship. I make almost $45K/year and I have a daughter who is fully dependent on me. I do not own a house  and I have less than $3K in savings. Do I still need a co-sponsor?? Please advise on any information. Thank you!

You would be filling in 134 for the K1 visa and if you look at the poverty guidelines I think you should be fine.

Thank you for that link. It is very useful.I knew there was some threshold restrictions, but i was not sure where to find it. Thanks again!

Thank you Barbara J for the info. The 134 should be notarized right?

That is comforting to know. I just checked the poverty guideline too. Thanks gigi_a

how many months pay stubs are needed for affidavit of support? Or is yearly tax proof needed? also does the job need to be full time?

I would say if you can get hold of your pay stubs, then get as many as you can. But i will also make sure that it includes the most recent. I do not think a full time or part time matters in the case of paystubs, as long as you meet the income guideline. But you might also want to hear what others might say! Good luck1

You're good to go.. Yay!

Thank you!

I am also curious still about the affadavit of support. I make only $29,000 per year, but have no dependents but myself. I don't own a house but have a life insurance policy and own a vehicle. I too have less than $3k in my savings. I am confused about the poverty guidelines.

What's to be confused about? Your minimum income requirement is 18,387/yr... that more than meets the minimum requirements.

Thank you, I have been told that the first affidavit of support that is filed i-134 i think is 100% of poverty line and the second i-485 is 125% is this right?

For the K-1 visa application, you will need the I-134. When filing your I-485 for AOS, you will need the I-864. Most consulates still go by the 125% guideline.
