i will sponsor my parents and my sister to come over here. I have no clue about this process. I want to know that when i file 3 separate I-130 forms for them , do i need to send in form I-864 same time with the I-130 or not ? and do i need to have 3 separate I-864 for them or i can just need one form I-864 for three of them ?

I-130 forms for each applicant shld be sent to USCIS while I-864 will be sent to National Visa Center after its approval from USCIS. each one should have a copy of I-864. you can photocopy the form to provide for the other applicants. however, i don't think you would need it for your sister right away since your mother and your sister will have different processing time. your mother will take 6-12 months for you to get her if you're a US citizen now while your sister will be years before she could join you. from what i know it would be a little faster for your mother to petition your sister than you petitioning your sister.

parents are considered immediate relatives if the petitioner is 21 years old and a US citizen. therefore visas are readily available while a sibling is in a preference category and have to wait for her priority date to get their visa.

So for now, i just need to send 3 forms for my sister and my parents. Then when it get sent to NVC, they will tell me to submit I-864 later. this law is so stupid those. They should let my sister to come here with my parents. She will be the only one left in vn and nobody will take care of her since she is 20 yrs old and still in school/ I think this law need to be changed. Thanks for all your replies guys.

I don't think your sister can fly at the same time with your parents to the US because your petition for your sister is not qualified as immediate relative.

When Will A Visa Become Available?

"When a petition is approved for the spouse, parent, or unmarried minor child of a United States citizen, these persons are classified as immediate relatives. They do not have to wait for a visa number because immediate relatives are not subject to the immigrant visa limit."

check this link http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-130instr.pdf

i suggest you read this first before making a decision.

I just wanna ask if an infant (months old) needs a to apply for a US visa? Also, I already have my case number and turned in all the papers needed for documentation in the NVC. How long will it take to get an interview and medical appoinment?

Hope you can help me answer this questions.

Thanks!

My wife is a USC, formerly from Ukraine. Her 35 year old daughter is still in Ukraine. How long, in general, would the daughter (and her 8-year old child) have to wait to immigrate to the US if we petition for them both? Thank you.

Hi V

I'm not sure how things have changed since i got mine in 2009 but, in my case I got my interview on sep 10 and the visa was delivered on sep 19.

Regarding a hotel a good one is "Hotel Estelar de la Feria" is near the airport and the US Embassy, I booked it through a traveling agency in Colombia and I got a better deal than doing it directly with them. I have no complaints. Just avoid the rooms facing the street for the noise. Best of luck for your mom and u on the interview!smile.png

Actually there are a few rules about passing citizenship along but usually this is true.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

They are changing the law soon you won't be able to file for your sister ever. And parents won't be able to bring children over 30.

To sponsor your mother and father, you must file a separate petition for each. Your sister needs a separate petition. Visas are immediately available for parents of U.S. citizens, but visas are not immediately available for brothers and sisters of U.S. citizens. The Form I 864 is not needed right away.
