My fiance had an interview today also. Same thing - additional papers needed. He said they wanted tax returns for me and the co-sponsor and also a document from the courts saying he's clear of everything (in addition to police record he already has). I'm pretty upset about it, but I guess it could be worse. I'm just ready for this to be over. I wish you two luck in getting your papers together and finally finishing the process.

I would reccomend her to go back to the embassy, go directly to 2GO window and ask why is her visa on hold and 2GO people might tell her what was the document the CO asked for. If the guard wont let her go back inside, tell her to tell the guard that she will just clarify with the 2GO people about her visa. She can present to the guard her previous interview appointment letter to convince the guard. Or you can try to call the operator for non-immigrant visa and ask for your case.

Whatever document they're waiting for, they apparently can't approve the visa without it. I doubt pestering them is going to get any results, since it appears they aren't going to issue a decision until they get the document. It's also apparently not something your fiancee could help with or they would have asked her to get the document for them.

I'd say give it some time and see what happens. Keep contacting the consulate periodically to see if there's any updates.

I am no expert but according to what I have read from others experiences here on VisaJourney if they kept her passport and sent her to fill out the form at the 2Go window then it must be that they just misplaced a document at the embassy. If this is the case then I think it will be no problem later.

Good Luck, We are wishing the best for you

I would give them a week and if you haven't heard from them, call the embassy/consulate. If they tell you her case is still being reviewed it means she's been put in AP (administrative Processing). AP wait time varies by location AND case. I hope that's not the case for you guys. We've been in AP for 6 weeks already since her interview and I don't wish that on anybody on here. Again, hopefully it's something they can resolve within a week. Good Luck!!

We are in similar sutuation, starting week 7 of AR status! They did have her send a new NBI ( was 2 weeks old) I deploy in a month and still no answers, calling is useless all u get is its under review! Review of what? previously they lost a form of hers and i had to have an atty go to the embassy ( funny a week latter after almost 4 months of no status, everything materialized!) Personally I think they have clerical erors and are covering it up!

I'm not really asking you this or the OP but, if it is a document they don;t have or misplaced that his fiancee cannot provide, then why don;t they just tell her that when she's there for cripe sake?? Would it really be that hard?? CO: "Well, everything looks fine and you are approved, we just need to locate one document and your VISA will be process and sent out to you. You may now go the the 2go window, etc......" Really. Why does it have to be a mystery and they send her away with no information for her and fiance to worry and be left hanging?? Sorry but that just seems stupid to me. Unnecessarily stupid at that!

My prayers to the OP and his fiancee. God bless guys!
