WOOT!!!! We were approved at the Montreal Consulate on April 21st, 2011!!!!

I want to thank everyone on the forums for all their help with getting me through some of the more difficult times :)

I do have one question though:

My wife will be going through the POE at Montreal on May 21st, 2011 but we had originally planned a vacation to go back to Canada for 2 weeks in the summer on June 25th 2011. The VISA she was approved for is a CR-1 which is the conditional visa. Once she has the I-551 in hand, can we travel freely with it or is she going to need additional paperwork? I looked on the uscis.gov website and it looks like she may need to file an I-131, application for re-entry. I was reading the instructions on it and it said if you have a conditional residency that you will need to fill it out. Is this correct?

Pre-USCIS:

07-20-2008: Fell In Love

10/15/2008: Jami and I meet for the first time

1-17-2009: Became Engaged In Nova Scotia

04-01-2009: Visit to Nova Scotia to see Jami

06-29-2009: Jami comes to Arizona to visit

01-08-2010: Married in Fredericton, NB Canada

01-11-2010: Jami allowed back down with me after marriage for 6 months

USCIS JOURNEY:

05-20-2010: I-130 Packet mailed out! ( Finally! )

05-22-2010: Packet received at Lockbox

05-28-2010: NOA1 ($355.00)

07-07-2010: Jami went back to Fredericton, NB :(

10-29-2010: NOA2 ( FINALLY! )

NVC JOURNEY:

11-05-10: Case received at NVC

11-06-10: Called automated machine and got NVC case number

11-08-10: Called and changed Jami's address and added my email to case for corraspondance updates

11-16-10: DS-3032 email generated and emailed to us

11-16-10: AOS fee bill generated and emailed to us

11-18-10: Paid AOS Bill ($88.00)

11-23-10: Mailed completed DS-3032 through Canada Post

12-01-10: NVC Received DS-3032 and updated in System

12-06-10: Mailed AOS packet overnight express

12-16-10: Paid IV Bill ($404.00)

congrats! She doesn't need any additional paperwork for a short trip back to Canada. I think one member, OBX, left right after she entered to complete the sale of her home. Re-entered without any issues

The stamp is used until she receives her 2 year greencard in the mail which is around a month after her POE.

07/07/09 : Married

08/18/09: I-130 Sent to Chicago

08/20/09: I-130 Received by USCIS

08/25/09: NOA1

09/22/09: NOA2

10/05/09: Received case# and gave emails

10/07/09: Received DS-3032 and AOS email

10/09/09: Sent DS-3032 email to optin electronic filing

10/15/09: Paid both AOS & IV fees

10/16/09: Received email electronic filing accepted

10/18/09: Sent AOS via email

10/23/09: Received email that AOS was accepted and waiting for IV

I POE'd mid-June in 2009 and returned back to Canada a week and a half later using only the stamped visa in my passport. As canadian_wife has posted I re-enterd without any issues at all. Enjoy your vacation!

Congratulations!!!!

I "activated" my visa to pick up my husband at the airport. So obviously, I crossed back over that same day. 5 days later we crossed again with NO problem. You're free to cross any time now with the CR1!
