I am filling out the paperwork for an adjustment of status and I have to provide a completed medical examination form (I-693) and a vaccination supplement. To obtain that I need the services of a civil surgeon. The one I visited asked for a fee of $350! I can't afford that for a medical examination. Does anybody know of a civil surgeon that does not charge an arm and a leg in the Denver area? Thanks a lot.

You can only use a civil surgeon thats is recommended from the USCIS site in your area code. Have you not had a medical to get here? If so then you only need to have the vaccinations supplement transferred over to I-693 not another medical. Should not cost you more than $50.

Go to the USCIS siter and look for CS and put in your zip code. It will bring up your choices in your area.

That is exactly what I did and the doctor asked me for $350. I have found another one who asked $250. Better, but overpriced for the amount of work that needs to be done! That is why I'd like to find a doctor that charges me a reasonable fee.

What visa are you adjusting from?

If you are adjusting from a K1 visa and your medical is less than a year old then you might need a transcription which should only cost around $50 (plus any missing shots).

If you are adjusting from a visitor/student/work visa you will need a complete medical. $350 is pretty reasonable for a complete medical. My medical in my home country was around $400. You might be able to find someone cheaper but given that you require shots, TB test and other stuff it's not unreasonable.

I am adjusting from a K1 visa and I cannot find a civil surgeon who wants to transfer over the vaccination supplement to the I-693. I have been to 4 clinic in Denver now and they all say I need a medical exam. I even showed them the instructions for the I-485. Really frustrating! If anybody in Denver knows which civil surgeon to get that done, it would be great! Thanks.

Like the other member stated, you can only use a Civil Surgeon that is on the USCIS website, maybe not exactly from your zip code but a close one.

Recommend you call all the ones that are within a good distance from you and see what they charged.

Unfortunately that is the only option.

****I drove 30min for my husbands I-693, after calling different surgeons from the ones provided on the USCIS website. NOT in CO
