What is your Google WALK SCORE? Mine is a 2 out of 100

We just got back from spending the day in the Valley (Phx Metro area), which is about 150 south of us. I was born in that area and lived there most of my life until '96, to attend art college in CA. It is the epitome of urban sprawl. The area where we needed to be was a town called Avondale. All the homes and strip malls look fairly new, but the land is so flat and baron - I don't think we saw one tree, let alone a bicycle or even a pedestrian.

Not only is it a lie, it's a SPELLING MISTAKE!!!!! You should go into hiding Steven, it's your only hope now.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

My current residence got a 66 and my previous residence an 83. There's a couple things wrong with the calculator. For one, some stores and points of interest are incorrectly classified or simply not listed (it doesn't know there is a grocery store around the corner from my current residence). Further, some thought should be given to the availability of employment within a walking distance.

I think the people in this thread referring to a walking score as a communism score are a little wacky. When choosing my place of residence, I definitely look at what is within walking distance. It's not because I hate freedom or want to get rid of my car. I just like being able to step out and go for a walk in the park, grab a bite to eat, or pick up some groceries. I could perhaps see a push towards public transportation as being counter freedom, but walking is very free and individualistic.

The Lynchburg Tea Party lays it all out. So clearly that even you won't be confused. Check it out.

Mine said 65. The thing that was not considered is the fact that although the places listed are within a walkable distance, there are NO SIDEWALKS. The roads don't even have a walkable shoulder. So you'd be pretty much taking your life into your hands if you tried to walk anywhere.

It's one of my many complaints about this area.

I guess you have no appreciation for liberty.

It's about time you said something that made a little sense.

How little you have to do to get a positive approval rating, I bet your mum is right proud of you right now.
