While preparing the AOS package for my wife, I was looking over the AP Application (I-131) and it asks for dates, places, etc. for the "reason" for requesting AP. I looked in the AOS Guide for K-1 but didn't find any sample I-131 forms.

The I-131 instructions say "You may apply if Form I-485 is pending, and you seek to travel abroad for emerging personal or bona fide business reasons."

What should she put for her reason for requesting AP during AOS from a K-1? We have no definite travel plans but want to file it concurrent with the I-485 (for obvious reasons.) It seems to me that it is approved for those who apply and I don't think that everyone applying has concrete plans at the time of AOS filing so it must be OK without knowing in advance. I'd be inclined to leave dates and places, etc. blank but I also know the Feds don't like that either.

Can anyone who filed for AP concurrent with AOS filing who had an AP approved without travel plans tell me what you said on the I-131? Will a simple "N/A" or "None" be OK in this instance?

Please ignore the above as it is incorrect for 2 reasons:

1. You do NOT complete the "reasons" box on the AP document when filling it in for AP see here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=12413

2. As you are applying with AOS you do NOT attach any document outlining your eligibility (explains it in the instructions).

in short you write NO reason, and attach NO document stating your eligibility if you're filing it together with AOS. If you file for AP after sending AOS then you'll need to send the AOS NOA1 as proof (both to avoid paying the fee and to show your eligibility).
