I actually grew up in the BC interior as well ... I am sure you have heard of Nelson ... I left Nelson in 1989 and moved to the lower mainland (had to leave after college as there wasn't work in my job career in Nelson) ... I lived in the lower mainland for about 17 years and was living in Langley before I moved here to Illinois in July of this year ....

Oh yeah, I know Nelson. I have been there a few times performing in the Kootenays area (Cranbrook et al) but that was after you left. I orginally moved to Kamloops in 1989 and went to Van in 1999 for more university, lived in Kits and then Marpole (out by the airport).

Looks like we have a very similar timeline! Hope you get approved soon - I only got one other email from them, no touches really, just a note on Oct 9 that they had it, and then Oct 10 they were sending a letter. I often wonder what they are doing with them when you get so many touches.

I thought I'd comment on this thread today as no one else has yet.

I hope to get touched or some update on my AOS this week! It would have been a month since hearing something about it. I know there are some others with a similar timeline to mine. Any thoughts?

I'm with you on that one drpepper1109, I really want to hear something about my AOS case this week, just to put my mind at ease that they actually haven't forgotten about me, or worse yet lost my case. I did however get touched today (a sunday of all things) on my EAD, which is very encouraging, 2 touches in 3 days- fingers crossed that's a good sign!! Here's hoping for a busy week of touches and approvals from CSC!!

Update on my car: its still at the mechanics. He said brakes were good but the master cylinder broke which caused brakes not to respond. And also two brake pads melted. My husband was feeling guilty, but he did it in unawarness. Now everything is good. I'M SO FULL OF HOPE. LET'S GO CSC

So I just got off the phone to the Immigration officer I was put through to when I called the USCIS (I had the general operator put me through to the IO). She told me that they don't always send out emails or even update the files when they have received the cases, so basically the portfolio account I have with them for my AOS is basically being ignored and they don't update it. She told me not to worry and that my case is apparently in California so at least that's a weight off my mind. I'd like to know why they don't update my case on the portfolio account but update others, seems odd, hope I wasn't just being fobbed off with some story!! Just thought i'd write this lil update as others have had similar problems with no 'received' email, calling them certainly put my mind at ease but has be asking more questions than it gave me answers to! Oh well I guess this is all part of the AOS hell......

Hope everyone is doing well!!

Hi all!

Got my Employment card in the mail today. Don't think much of the pic!

It expires next October, so am I right that the Green Card can be used in it's place when it arrives?

Katie, that's good news! Makes me feel better!

James as soon as I read your post about getting the EAD card I ran down to the mail box and sure enough there it was!!

Seems our EAD's were probably processed in the same batch...

Yeah the pic isn't great, I normally wear glasses and the lady at the biometrics place told me to take them off, I must admit I do look very different :P

Oh well, I can work now and that's all that matters!

Well, I sent off the RFE response for my AOS today. Almost 1/4" thick, close to 60 pages of documentation - every page of which had been sent previously in the original AOS submission. Let's hope they bother to LOOK at it this time.

I've never heard a thing about either my EAD or AP, since the original NOA1 for both of them. Everyone here with similar submission dates seems to have EAD's being touched and received daily now, I've never even had so much as a touch since the NOA back in August.

Just for ONCE I'd like at least ONE aspect of this nightmarish process to go easily for us. We have had the longest waits, the most problems, everything go wrong, at every possible step. We've watched countless numbers of people sprint past us with quick approvals while we sat waiting for months with no news whatsoever.

I think the USCIS hates me.
