I know that this whole process has been frustrating ... I am sure everything will work out just fine for you guys ... You should be getting approved soon since your near the top of the list on VJ CSC transfer list ...

As for your problem with your car today just look at the bright side that no one got hurt and worse case you might need to get some new brakes ... I bet you will remember from now on about the fact your husband may have left the emergency brake on ...

Smile and remember why you are doing this whole process ...

I wish you good luck in this journey and any other journeys you guys find yourselves on ...

Wow, have I been out of the loop. I didn't realize that transfer to CSC was a good thing.

In any case, I got a I-797C notice that my case was transferred dated Sept 21 and I got an email that I would be getting a welcome letter Oct 10. I guess that means I am approved.

However, in Idiots Galore news, I changed my address in August and filled out all the forms and called the centre. I have been getting mail here at my new address, including the request for biometrics with both case numbers for the AOS and EAD news. So, I looked online to see how it was going (this was before I got the welcome email)...

they sent my EAD stuff to the wrong address.

How???!?!?!??!?! They have been sending stuff to me at the new correct address for 2 months!!!!! GRRRR! So I called the centre again and told them the new address again, and of course they have no clue where they sent the stuff. It was probably just a NOA but please people....

Do I even need the EAD anymore? I can't quite figure this all out.... and it seems dumb the AOS gets approved before the EAD.

Once you have your 2 year conditional GC in hand (which should be very shortly) you will not need the EAD ...

That's what I thought I read somewhere. Another 180 bucks down the tubes... argh. But thanks for the info!

I am also from Vancouver, lived there for 5 years and in the BC interior since 1989 before that - I moved to Ontario last year to make travelling to see my fiance easier. It didn't really work - once we applied, I didn't want to cross the border. Are you missing the mountains yet?

Congrats! You must be one of the luckiest people. I think you started your K-1 process in February 2006 and you are already done even with the AOS, that is excellent.

If you get your GC you do not need anything else, no EAD or AP.

Khan,

I've also been getting depressed about my CSC transfer not going fast enough like the others, but lately i've been trying to look at the bright side (and sometimes it helps)...i remember the happiness when the visa was issued, then i got here and we got married and lived happily ever after (that is, until CSC decided not to touch our case for a month)...anyhow, i remember being so happy and thinking i couldnt ask for more...so just think about how far you've come in this journey until now...he's here and you're together and that's what really matters, the rest will fall into place

i hope you feel better now, even just a little bit

i'm hanging in there with you, just a little bit more and everything will be alright

(L)

This process is getting very depressing. There is no update on my husband's case since Sept 20th. The problem is he is a foreign medical graduate and this is the time when they apply for residency here in the United States to get a license to practice medicine. Eventhough, he doesn't have a GC or an EAD we still gammbled and applied for over 200 positions which cost us arround $3500. Yesterday, he got an interview call but the first thing they asked was 'fax us a copy of your GC'. His career is at a risk, what should we do? Its hard for foreign graduats to get into a good residency program and once he losses this oppurtunity I don't know if it will even happen to us again.

There is another thing just happend two hours ago. My huband always drove a stick shift car back home. He has a habbit of pulling up my car's hand brake at the end of the ride eventhough he is sitting on the passenger side. I'm not used to it so sometimes I forget to put is back when I drive. I didn't realize it when I was driving to work this morning unti I smelled the smoke coming out of my car's wheels. Then I saw the emergency brake light flashing and I put the brake back on its place. As soon as I did that my cars brakes failed to work and I couldn't slow down or stop it. I panicked and for a split second I thought I am going to smash my car in the boundry wall. Fortunately, I was near an exit and I went out of the highway I applied the hand brake again and rubbed the wheels against the curb which helped. It was horrifying, I'm still crying. I hate this immigration process. I'm tired and I was to get out of it.

Jeeleebee you are so full of hope though our timeline is almost same, I feel so encouraged

God bless you all, I really love you

Update on my car: its still at the mechanics. He said brakes were good but the master cylinder broke which caused brakes not to respond. And also two brake pads melted. My husband was feeling guilty, but he did it in unawarness. Now everything is good. I'M SO FULL OF HOPE. LET'S GO CSC

Timeline
That's what I thought I read somewhere. Another 180 bucks down the tubes... argh. But thanks for the info!

I am also from Vancouver, lived there for 5 years and in the BC interior since 1989 before that - I moved to Ontario last year to make travelling to see my fiance easier. It didn't really work - once we applied, I didn't want to cross the border. Are you missing the mountains yet?

I actually grew up in the BC interior as well ... I am sure you have heard of Nelson ... I left Nelson in 1989 and moved to the lower mainland (had to leave after college as there wasn't work in my job career in Nelson) ... I lived in the lower mainland for about 17 years and was living in Langley before I moved here to Illinois in July of this year ....
