Would you get a tattoo of your SO name?:no::blush:

Most likely not, unless she would die. Then maybe, but even in that case a naked life-sized marble statue of her would be a more likely remembrance option.

Why? or Why not?

No, since everyone has tattoos. I think tattoos are generally unoriginal. Besides, when you get a tattoo you only surprise your SO the first time you show it. After that it's no longer a surprise. I'd rather surprise my SO more often by bringing her random small gifts like flowers, candy, jewelry and books than doing something "big" a few times in a lifetime.

Do you belive in the name tattoo jinx?

No.

My tattoo artist refuses to put names of anyone still living on anyone.... once they are passed away it's fair game..

Gotta say I agree with him!

I would NEVER get a tattoo with someone's name on.

I'd get my kids names tattooed.. but that's a different story than a BF/GF hubby/wife....

actually we had a bet going on with the kids.. with the 1st baby (not born yet!) if he was a boy, my wife would get the name tattooed, if it was a girl, i'd get it.. now we know it's a boy, so she's gonna get one later on

I agree...if I were to ever get a tattoo and felt compelled to get a name tattoo I'd have my sons' names. Your kids will be your kids forever. A husband or wife may not be.

it really depends on the person... having a tattoo whatever that is needs a major decision... its permanent and its a pain in bunghole to remove or patch it... i personally have my husband's name tat on my lower back and im proud of it! jinx happens, but can be avoided... if you did it, its because you want it... if something special didnt last as what you've expected, let it be a reminder that once you've love so far as getting a tat of their names on your bod... anyways, its an art and expression of who you are!

I got a tattoo of my boyfriend's name, in a heart on the top of my shoulder, when I was 17. It was his Valentine's present. I regret putting it in such a goofy symbol and I get annoyed sometimes when other people (usually the PTA moms at our son's school) look down their noses at me. <_<

That boyfriend is now my husband and we've been together for over 11 years now so I guess "jinx" is just a state of mind.

If I had the chance to do it all over again, I think I'd have designed something original myself and had it placed somewhere slightly more discreet! :P

man, this thread is old. Answering the OP I'd never get my husband's name tattooed, not only because it's really lame, but also I'm not his property.
