HI,

Me and my husband filed AOS documents early in December, I've got my biometrics done on January 5. On January 27,2011 I've got an email notification that an interview was scheduled on March 7, 2011 and the notice was mailed on January 27.Today is February 1, I haven't recieved the notice yet. I am very nervous... Could it had got lost in mail? What should I do to get this notice? An email notification has no information about documents needed or the place of the interview. Please, help, I am very nervous!!! Have it ever happened to anyone before? Thank you

Wow, wait another week for it, mail usually takes 1-2 weeks sometimes. Your getting overly worried for something you shouldn't worry about just yet.

I have never heard of anyone getting an email notification for an interview. Are you sure it actually came from USCIS?

Oh, yes, it did came from USCIS. There is an option you can enable, when you create an account to check your case status...have never heard of anyone getting an email notification for an interview. Are you sure it actually came from USCIS? When I check my case status on their website it also says that the letter was mailed on Jan. 27.

I am aware of the service for updates, but you don't get an update for an interview letter (unless this has changed in the last week, which is possible). Are you sure it doesn't say RFE?

It could also be an error; this is the first I have heard of a notification for an interview, so I am suspect.

This is what it says...

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

On January 27, 2011, we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for March 7, 2011, at NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER. Please follow the instructions on the notice. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Ahh, that's what I thought. No one has an interview at National Benefits Center. I have seen other reports of this email in the past few days. I am not sure if it is a total error, or only half an error. It is possible that you are having an interview at your local office on March 7 (which is not National Benefits Center). In that case, it would only be half an error. Maybe this is their way of trying to give notice of interviews, but it's not exactly accurate, if you know what I mean. It could also mean that they took it back from CSC and sent it to NBC who will send it to your local office for an interview.

Here is another thread about it.

Hopefully it is a new thing and is mostly right, and you will get a letter in the next few days with more accurate instructions. It's only been 3 business days, so it's not time to panic yet. Good luck!

I had a same email and then got the letter for interview at the local USCIS office. It took 3 days to get the letter. If you don't get it in the next few days check on it. For me, they wrote a different city than where I live. It wasn't even mistyping. At least the zip code and street address was correct so I got it.

Oh, and the letter did come from NBC.

Thanks Fehevirag. Sounds like this is a new protocol... although one would hope they could get the city right! Normally (at least in the past year) the letter would come directly from the local office for the appointment. Maybe they have a new centralized date setting system. Keep us posted. Thanks.

Ooooh... This is making me so nervous... Still hope I will recieve the letter. If I won't recieve it by the end of the week should I ask for an infopass?

just relax, hopefully you will get it,usually if you call the USCIS,they will tell you, call back after 15 days if you dont recieved the mail...
