Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself to this great community... I just stumbled across this GREAT homepage and I think you guys are the only ones tht REALLY understand what long distance relationship means... My name is Silvia, I'm 25 years old and I'm from Vienna, Austria. I met my husband 2007 on a vacation in the Domenican republic. We've both been there with our families and it was love on first sight :) . We only spent 3 days with each other but we both knew that this was it (L)

So after going back and forth (I spent some time in the US, he spent some time in Austria), we came to the conclusion that we want to live in the US, since my husband found a good job in Louisville, KY, and his German is not as good as my English. So we got married in Vienna and started the whole crazy Visa journey. I've recieved a lot of misinformation and it's really hard to find answers to my questions. Sometimes I feel like fighting against windmills. And it seems that after being married it seems even harder to be together!!! Isn't that absurd? I almost feel like we've done something illegal.

Well, I don't want to bore you... I'm glad I found this great community!

Welcome to our community Silvia, there are a lot of great people here with a lot of knowledge of all this process, please read as much as you can. we are all here in the same process as you and yes it does get harder at times to

be away from our loved ones, good luck on your journey.

USCIS

10/04/10 - filed for I-130

2/14/11 - I-130 approved in 148 days

NVC

3/23/11 - NVC case number assigned

3/23/11 - Called NVC and gave email addresses to be added to case

3/26/11 - DS-3032 form received.

3/26/11 - Paid AOS fees online.

3/30/11 - AOS package received by NVC

4/8/11 - DS-230 Package IV fee payment option available, paid same day.

4/12/11 - Package IV fees shows as Paid. Mailed Package IV documents

4/14/11 - Package IV delivered to NVC.

4/26/11 - SIF!!

6/7/2011- Interview date

6/7/2011= Received 221g asking for co-sponsor

7/7/2011-VISA APPROVED

Hey, we are only 4 days apart - we filed our I-130 on Dec 24th! Let's stick together, maybe it'll be a bit easier for all of us. The wait is torturous but fortunately VJ has tons of great resources and valuable posts so there's plenty to read to kill time ;-)

Hello, welcome to VJ. We hope that you have a great journey..

2005---We met by friend/Church member that was living in Nigeria

2006---We begin to talk about getting married

2007---I was going to met him face to face, but hurt my back couldn't walk..

2009---Was able to see each for the first time.. I got my engagement ring (WOW).. :wow:

2010-01-22 mailed I129f

2010-01-26 got NOA1

2010-05-12 called to see why no NOA2, I was told that our case is not being processed yet!!!!! No notes in the computer

other then the mailing of the NOA1!!!!!!! :angry:

2010-05-18 called SERVICE CENTER again to see what's going on with our case.. NOT BEING PROCESSED YET I WAS TOLD AGAIN!!!

2010-06-16 Got notice that NOA2 was approved 141 days after NOA1. We got our approval on Ossy's Birthday.. Happy birthday honey, I love you!!!!

2010-06-21 got NOA2 in hand

2010-06-22 called NVC to see if papers was there, but was told that my DOB was not right in the system. Just mailed a letter along with a copy of my birth certificate asking to change my DOB.. Way to go VCS..

2010-06-22 NVC received the case

2010-06-23 Case sent to Embassy in Barbados

2010-06-28 Embassy received our case

2010-08-09 Interview Administrative Review

2010-11-15 Approved for Visa (I was on the mission to make sure the INTERVIEWER that we had never interviewed anyone else and I did it).. Know that you have right and don't let the interviewer cross the line..

2010-12-10 Visa and Passport in hand!!! Thank God!!!

2010-12-19 Ossy will enter the States!!
