الشكر والسلام يكون معكم

I was meaning my fiance's B3 we haven't gotten yet since we haven't received our NOA2. I am just hoping we can still get even with all thr turmoil in the country at present.

merci wa rabbi m3ak zeda.

I'm sorry, I thought you mean your fiance's brother's B3. Things are starting to function again. The government has ordered everything that can possibly open to open, to restore some sense of normalcy to the country. The post offices and banks were open today for the first day in a week and working as normal with a shortened schedule to reflect the country wide curfew in place.

Has your fiance already requested one?

Many police stations were burned and destroyed beyond repair in the last week. Do you know if the police station nearest to your fiance is still open and working? It's better to request a B3 early in the game, as in the last year or so Tunisia has gotten incredibly slow at generating these. It use to be that you could walk in and out the same day with the certificate in your hand. When my husband went for his in 2008 it took several days and a lot of threats by his father to get it. Friends that I've had go through in 2009 and 2010 waited sometimes almost 1 month to receive theirs. When you know an interview date or when you get the word of case complete, I would have him go and request the B3. Also he should physically stop in every day after that to ask if it's finished yet. Stay on top of them or else they will give him the incha allah tomorrow line and not work on it at all. When he goes to his interview, they will want the B3 to be as recent as possible; with in days or weeks of the date of his interview.

Things are all very dicey right now and I can't make any real educated 'predictions' or opinions about the future. The Embassy is working but have admitted there could be a slow down. They don't intend for that to happen and will do everything with in their power to prevent it, but given the current state of things, it may be unavoidable.

If he's far from the capital and your interview comes up soon, proceed with caution. Trips that would normally take only minutes are taking hours. I have a close American friend in Tunisia who is married to a pilot for TunisAir. Last night he had a flight and when he came home he was stopped so many times. The normal 20 minute drive took him much more than one hour. He was stopped by the army, the police, and by citizen militias to check his car and persons. Many trains are still not running, though I hope in the coming weeks they will start moving again. If your fiance has to drive into the capital, it's best to travel only during the day time hours and allow lots of extra travel time.

Good luck!

Morning everyone and happy Monday! Beautiful day here! We are to reach 77 today. Temps are slowly

getting warmer. I really don't want to be in the 100+ again soon. Would love to stay like this for at least

a couple months.

Wael doesn't have classes today so it's a "let's do some shopping" day.

Thank you all for your congratulations to Wael! We now wait for a date and time for his oath....

then it's finally over! Sometimes it seems like we just went for our first interview....then sometimes

it seems like it's been years with this process!

Terrie, have you any more news of when your husband will return? Sure hope everything is going

well with him.

Vanessa, best of luck to your husband! What will he study and what University do you teach at?

Andrea, hope your legs will feel better. Just take care of yourself!

Have a great day everyone! Take care and be careful!

Jeanne, he is not yet sure what he is going to major in. We have him enrolled in general studies right now and is taking 3 classes so he can get used to college here. He went to university in Morocco but it's been a while and he is also working so we thought it best to start a little slower and he can pick up the pace later if he wants. He's thinking of becoming a teacher but I want him to be sure to explore all options. The teaching would be wonderful though because we could visit his family for extended times each year so it is a big plus on that side of things.

We had a very busy week and I am just tired! They really filled up my classes at my day job so I have all these new students to try to get caught up on 3 weeks' worth of work. Ugh! Hubby is at work tonight and so after I go pick him up I think we're going to have no problems falling asleep and don't plan on setting the alarm for tomorrow. It will be nice to have the day tomorrow just to spend some time together. Of course we'll both be at the computer with him studying and me teaching. LOL!

Everyone have a terrific weekend!
