Cases transferred to California usually mean they will be adjudicated without an interview. :) Keep your fingers crossed! (I've read about some cases where they were transferred to California but kicked back to the local ASC)

I did a long reasearch on the uscis.Believe me, I read some older posts with similar questions that we have today and yours in particular. other than "stay on their tail", there is really no one good answer. They just do things sometimes for no good reasons.

Supposedly a time saving measure if your local office is running a bit behind, but sometimes is not really an advantage because many people wait longer than those who have an interview.

Hey everyone,

I just called the USCIS and my case being transferred to California Service Center is a normal procedure. Rightnow they said it will take appox 5 months from the date I filed. So I will have my greencard sometime in Feb 2011. I filed at the end of Sep.2010. So I really need to get a EAD. I can't wait till Feb to work. I still don't have my ead. I'm going to a infopass appointment this week. I hope they are able to help me. AND stil no biometrics appointment!

This has been a long and stressful process.

The biometrics letter really depends on how busy your local office is. Where is your closest office?

I think Dallas is definitely one of the farthest behind with people waiting months for their letters.
