My husband got his biometrics taken on 11/7 and they told him then that it would be a couple more weeks until he gets his work authorization in the mail. Is this true? Does anyone else have experience with this? We also got a request for more information before that (of tax stuff) which we turned in of course. Could that be affecting things? Thanks for your help!

The EAD takes roughly 2 months. An RFE slows down everything so yes, the RFE can affect EAD.

** moved from "Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from Family Based Visas" to " Working & Traveling During US Immigration" as this is relating to EAD **

Our EAD was approved the same day as biometrics and received a week later. BUT we waited 2.5 months for the appointment letter, so everything else was taken care of/approved and we were just waiting on the letter, I guess. So the timeline you were given sounds normal considering your got your letter pretty quickly.
