Guess what. When he reports this to USCIS, they will automatically suspect him of not being a good husband and it is the reason she left. Then she can claim some type of spouse abuse and be on the fast track for citizenship. Seen it happen more than once.

I think years ago you would be correct but the USCIS has changed some what to adapt to the trend of false claims of abuse to be granted a visa.

If there is no history of abuse filed or police reports against her husband the USCIS will see her claims as a desperate attempt to

remain in the united states.

They will still revoke her visa and deport her. And use her claim against her by saying she will be better off and safer far away from her abusive husband and

be reunited with family and friends in her native country.

There are exceptions of course any lawyer can find but if she does not have lots of money it is unlikely she will find an exception.

I am no expert but I have done research.

It has been over a year since my last visit here on visajourney. Things have been very disappointing and heartbreaking. I met my spouse thru family members in 2007 in Ghana. After two visits to Ghana I filed for K-1 visa for her to join me because she was so vibrant, kind, full of life,....you know what I mean. It's been a very long and painful process. She arrived in April 09. The following day after her arrival, that vibrant, joyful, kind woman I fell in love with was no more. She was not talking at all and just want to be left alone. I proceded to marry her anyway in the hope that it will get better. I also put her to nursing school so that she can have a job. My expenses on her since 08/07 to date is over $15,000 just to bring her here, file for AOS and school tuition and so on.

She disapeared the day she got her first job. I have no idea where she is. I feel very very hurt but I know it will come back to hurt her also.

I am soo sorry you are going through this. Of course this is what most of us fear at times but then love can cause us to be blind and does make one do strange things. Firsr and foremost talking about your ordeal begins the process of healing for you. Be proactive and file the police report she will have to explain why she disappeared without informing her husband and please do it fast before she accuses you of abuse when she reappears again.

As others have stated, report to USCIS that she was fraudulent and let her face the music with them. She is probably counting on you saying "fama nyame" and will allow her to be with the person that she had here already.

I pray that you will heal from this experience and God grants you solace and courage to face this. when you finish crying, pick yourself up and dust it off (woso wu ho) and be ready for that someone who will truly love you.

I would suggest the same thing, most important is you need to file missing person report with police.

Like most people said, until she is traced, you will be on the hook from perspective of police too, but once they trace her your responsibility is over.

Also when police approach her work or any friends or relative in attempt to trace her, they gonna get a better response then you will.

Then second step would be to report her to USCIS and put her on the fraud list - my thought is she might come back saying she is in love with someone else who is also USC and on and on........

But you can report to USCIS, which would make it little difficult for her, even when she tries to file again with USCIS with a different spouse.

whatever you do,you have got to absolutely report her,to both ICE and as a missing person.she is your responsibility at this point.find her,get a divorce,and then let ICE handle it

Sorry to hear about what has happened to you

keep your chin up & in time you will start to feel better

having said that change the locks at your house ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if she has your credit card or debit card cancel it RITE NOW!!!!!!!!!

do find out through a P.I. where she is & turn over all info to uscis/ice

people like her make it hard for the rest of us, so please don't cut her ANY slack

I am so so very sorry to hear of your terrible misfortune but you have been given some very good solid advice from your VJ family. I hope once you and I have wiped away our tears you will be able to gather the strength to move forward.
