I agree- the more calls made by affected individuals to the USCIS regarding issues, the higher the likelihood that something may be looked into, and who knows, someone might even try and resolve such recurring issues.

It's too easy to say "oh nothing will happen, the USCIS is this and the USCIS is that". The point is, without action it is a certainty there will be no reaction; at least with some action, there's even a glimmer of hope of there being some type of (hopefully positive) reaction.

Also, I recommend joining American Families United. They have some very smart, experienced lobbyists and this is the only group working on behalf of US citizens and legal residents on family reunification issues. I used to be a journalist in DC and I think these guys are very savvy.

Also, please sign my petition! I'm calling for time limits on processing and a comprehensive review of the entire family visa system. It just shouldn't take so long.

Thanks! and good luck -

Hello my friends. I have been reading all the posts and I am also optimistic that we are gonna get approved soon.

I received a letter today responding to an expedite.

This is what I got today in the mail:

On 1/14/2011 you contacted us about your case. Some of the ifo:

Name blah blah blah

The status of this request is

Documentation submitted meets the requirements for expedite processing of your application. We have reacived your applications from the WESTERN SERVICE CENTER ( what do they mean CALIFORNIA?) . after we have updated our database your application will be assigned to an adjudicating officer. You will received a notice when a decision is made on your case.

Ok what is curious about this letter is that we actually requested en expedite and informed them of our down syndrome baby. Well that never called us or asked us to fax or mail any documentation. We were waiting for the 5 business day letter and now they are saying that we meet the requirements and that my application was received from the western service center... hellloooooo!! yreah you received in November of last year!!!!

so what do you think? not that an expedite means anything but any opinions?

did you get the RFE before or after the transfer to TSC?

did you send the requested info before/after the transfer?

an RFE could only make this nightmare worse... thank goodness the person i spoke to other day said looks like all our paperwork looks great (probably blowing smoke up my... but still made me feel better!)

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

exactly

just save that, and in 30 days when you dont have a decision get another expedite (like those of us who have already done) so you ahve a paper trail of the BS that has been going on.
