Hello everyone!

I'm starting this new topic and I know that it may happen that it'll be moved and/or deleted because this info could be somewhere I haven't looked yet, even though I doubt it because it's part of my productive waiting process to read VisaJourney.com regularly and the Forums are my favorite. It's very reassuring to find people out there going through the same anguish as us.

The thing is that I have seen a lot of people in these Forums who have filed their petitions on similar dates as George and I and either they have been touched several times or have already received their approval and then I instantly rush up to the Immigration page, and yes, I have set up an account to receive emails but you know, when you're waiting for something SO important to you, you always hope that there could be some glitch and the email never got to you, etc, well you know the drill, only to find nothing there.

Anyway, question is, why is it that so many other people got some kind of news and even approval and our case hasn't even been touched, not a single time. I am starting to feel a bit scared by that. Should I? Should we do something about it? There probably isn't anything we can do at all, anyway. <sigh> Help! Somebody?!

It's not uncommon to never see a "touch" between NOA1 and NOA2. I've seen some people post that the only update they received was the one they wanted the most, approval.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is anything you can do between submission of petition and approval of petition except wait and I think I can speak for many (if not all) people here when I say, "waiting sucks."

Best wishes.

Some members have reported that they never got a "touch," yet their petitions were approved. From looking at other members' timelines there seems to be a number of touches just when the petition is received (for the original handling; NOA 1 and check cashing), and later a series of touches around the five-month mark before the petition is adjudicated and, shortly after, approved -for most people.

There is a difference in processing times between VSC and CSC (currently CSC is the slower of the two), and there also seems to be a difference depending on beneficiary's country. Yet, every case is different and some people have had the luck to get their petitions approved in less than a month while others go well beyond the 5 month mark...

Best wishes!

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

to answer your question,i dont think the beneficiary's country makes a difference,as its not really CSC or VSC's to judge a relationship and how fraudulent it possibly could be,its their job to make sure you have filed i-129f correctly in the first step,go through the evidence that you have met in the past two years ( thats what makes you eligible for k-1 ) and etc.im not by any means a USCIS fan,but i honestly dont believe the country of beneficiary comes in picture in the first step.

Our case was not even visible online until it was approved. It took us 5 months to have any information other than the NOA1. I called every couple of weeks after the first 3 months or so, but all they would tell me is that our case was being processed. I was in Brasil with my sweetie when I checked randomly online using our case number, and rather than seeing "cannot be found", I saw Approved. I was so shocked I rechecked the case number over and over. LOl! Good luck to you!

You only filed in August. It hasn't been even 5 months yet. You have a ways to go. Stop worrying.

@Menina: Thanks for the support. Getting the NOA2 is after all the only news we really want to get.

@Baron: '...Only in August...Stop worrying.' All easier said than done. Guess men are tougher than us, girls. It is after all my first time and I was just posting to ask if anyone had the same experience and now that I know it's a common thing to happen, especially for my country, of course I am less worried. But thanks for trying to help in your own not-so-sweet way lol.

Hey Kat. glad you understood my humor. Your case seems fine and there is nothing to worry about. What I would do is begin to look over the documents and evidence needed for the interview and look to your country's regional forum here on VJ to determine if there is any Embassy-specific things you need to do or be warned of. We all will go through or went through it; keep the relationship healthy.

I never received any touches between my NOA1 and NOA2. I too was worried without seeing any touches on my account, checking up to several times a day and then finally one day I received a text from USCIS telling me it had been approved. Good luck and I'm sure everything will be fine!
