Me and my wife are going through the K1 Fiance Visa process. We are married now, and are up to the process of getting her Green Card (permanent residency). We had an appointment for my wife to meet with immigration for her Green Card. They sent a Notice of Action with had her meeting time at 8:40am. For some reason by the time the appointment came around, we had confused the time with our other appointments for the day and thought it was 3pm-----. When we got there, we realized our error. The security guard informed us we would have to submit a letter requesting a new appointment. Exactly---how is that done, who is it sent to etc? The security guard said he was not sure. Can anybody help us on this?

Suggest you call into USCIS, get a Tier 2 Human, an ISO (see http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/gc_1221837986181.shtm#5 )

then have a long conversation, ask to be rescheduled asap. The ISO should make some notes in the file, that you were there that day, but missed the time.

Missing an appointment is a big deal - the security guard is always clueless. Should you get stuck again, with a security guard, ask him to bring the shift supervisor to the door to talk with you.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

If you missed your appointment, they will deny the case. You should be receiving a letter of this denial and asking you to depart the United States.

Dont leave the US!

You will need to file a "Motion to Reopen" and chances are they will give you a new interview date. There have been many people who missed their apppointment dates due to address change, mail getting lost and other issues and have successfully filed MTRs. You may need to get an attorney involved in your MTR. The MTR form is I-290B and it costs $585.
