hello everyone..new here and so thankful for this site..really!

we're just starting to file and frankly my question is "How much is too much?"

I've got about 30 pixs already.. 30 skype/ym conversations. and i have more and i dont know where to end..

My fiance and I met on Facebook, about a year ago - would the USCIS think that weird? I thought he was a former officemate so i approved his friend request. and he said he thought I was working in a different department but same hospital. We liked each other a lot. The moment we started chatting, we've been talking everyday.. no misses.. then we met up in person last month, August for 10days only and we hope to file this October.. is that too fast? Im 35 and he's 40..will age matter?

our pixs before meeting up are just2-3. because we didnt really document the initial stages of our relationship coz we didnt plan on this happening..

my brain is like a sponge right now.. i read the guidelines almost complete but i dont know where to end?

any inputs please..thank you in advance :)

Hi there.

You may want to update your profile and include some additional information, like the foreign fiance(e)'s country of origin as well as where you are in the process so that other VJ members who are in the same boat can help you better. There are also Regional Discussion forums here so you can also get location specific information as your case requires.

You don't need so many pictures, up to 10 pictures with date stamp would be sufficient for your petition and a handful of Skype and YM conversations would be ok. While waiting, both of you should compile more proof for the foreign fiance(e)'s interview...at the very least you should prove that you have met in person at least once. Am sure some of the other members will offer some great advice as well.

There are VJ members here with more significant age gaps, so yours shouldn't be too much of a concern. And no, I don't think you are moving too fast with an application...some VJ members would have filed the next day if all of their paperwork was ready.

My husband and I met on eHarmony in May 2008 and he flew to the Philippines to see me in Aug 2008...and proposed 2 days after he arrived. :) You guys aren't the only members to meet online, and I'm pretty sure you won't be the last, either. :D

Good luck with your journey!

MarriedtoMrG has given you good advice. Definitely if you update your profile information as well as your timeline it will help us to help you. Many consulates do not necessitate front-loading your petition, some do. To err on the side of caution, since we dont' know what country your fiance is from, I'll advise you that the more proof you have, the better.

Pictures are only secondary evidence. Make sure you get copies of the passport stamps that you and/or your fiance got when visiting one another. These are great primary evidence of having been in the same place at the same time. Others can be boarding passes, receipts, ATM withdrawals, luggage collection tags, anything that can actually prove that you two were in the same country. Pictures are good secondary evidence to back up your primary evidence. If you come from a low fraud country then you don't need to put proof of an on-going relationship in your I-129F packet. You'll still want to collect some for the interview at the consulate but you might not even need it. Check out the regional forums for more information specific to your country.

The age difference will generally not make any difference. Unless its very uncommon specific to your culture it shouldn't be a red flag. The fact that you met online is also not a big deal. I think a lot of people on VJ met their partners online. Its like MarriedtoMrG said, you're not the first, and you definitely won't be the last.

Good luck with everything. Read the guidelines again, as you assemble your packet. Make sure you include everything you need. Go slowly, this is not a time to cut corners. Breathe, and don't panic, you'll get through it! :luv:

What country is your fiance from? Front-loading is a necessity for high fraud countries, no so much for low fraud. :time:

Good luck on your jouney!

joe_dee,

Check out the regional forum for the Philippines. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

People there will be able to answer your questions a lot more specifically than I can. I'm not sure whether or not your consulate is especially high-fraud but I know it's definitely trickier than some others.

And yes, the new location to send K-1 petitions is Texas. Your packet will then be routed to the appropriate service center based on your location. Make sure you check the USCIS website for the exact address and instructions.

Good luck!

Front-load the petition.

You are correct, the I-129F packet is first sent to Texas by your fiancee. Since she is the one who would be file the petition and she lives in LA, I can say with almost absolute certainty that it will be forwarded to the California Service Center.

I was recently in the Philippines with my American fiance and was casually told by an officer at the US Embassy in Manila that the Philippines is a high fraud country. Doesn't matter that your fiance is Filipino - he is still a US Citizen like everyone else who is petitioning someone.

Just thought I'd share :)
