I don't advise this to most couples, but there was a time after IMBRA that my fiance & I decided to stop talking on the phone for awhile. The exchange of "sighs" waiting for CSC to act on our case was stressing our relationship. We just decided to kept our own lives busy (working, working, working works!) & just exchange text messages everyday, not talking about the case. Now, we're just waiting for the packet & interview sked to come, at least we know we're getting there. And we're very positive we'll spend Christmas 2006 together.

we've sorta been doing a bit of that, and in our case I am not sure itis working! I get resentful. THough all my time at the gym seems to be paying off. ;)

I just got off the phone with him. He said he knows I don't like it, but there really is nothing to plan until the government gets to our case and makes a decision. I can be an unromantic pragmatic person, but he tops even me! We have a mini holiday planned at the end of the month (we are luckier than many in that we can meet more easily) and I am hoping it relieves some of the stress we both feel.

Actually the avatar was just meant to mock that scene in pulp fiction with travolta and uma thurman.

The Icey RFE is much more mysterious. Does it apply to me or doesn't it? According to the law it doesnt, according to CSC it does... BLEH!

I always thought your avatar was looking for your missing RFE! Well, if USCIS says you need one, why the heck haven't they sent it to you yet???

Good question. according to law IMBRA doesn't apply to me... but CSC says it does, and verbatim --> "The new law does apply to you, however we have no indication that a RFE was sent to you. Also, there is no indication of when one will be mailed out. Don't call back for 60 days."

I know you have a lawyer, and that you've contacted your congressman. I hope they can make something happen. It is outrageous. And that "no indication" ####### makes me want to yank what is left of my hair out.

Yup.. And I scanned and e-mailed my NOA1 which shows a February 13th receipt date, and a March 10th notice date. And then I scanned and e-mailed my transfer notice which says March 10th receipt date, Notice Date June 16th.

How come my receipt date magically changed?

I contacted one of my senators last night to see if they could help my lawyer get it rectified.

I know I'm out of my juristiction here. I just wanted to give you all some hope. I posted this in another thread. Thinking about it like this makes me feel better, knowing that there's a certain time on this thing.

It's unfortunate for everyone who got caught up in the IMBRA fiasco. However, I do believe it's going by RFE date now. Some cases are going quicker than others, every case is different. The USCIS started things over after March 6th. When they get the RFE back, they give themselves 60 days to adjudicate the petition. If you are under 60 days of processing the IMBRA RFE, then you are within the timeframe and unfortunately... on schedule. I think everyone will hear something by the end of the 60 days, if not then you can call for answers. It sucks!! but if you view it from this perspective, then you should have faith that it won't be much longer.

06/30/06- sent I-129F petition to VSC.

07/11/06- NOA1 (received in mail)

07/19/06- RFE received in mail, IMBRA

07/28/06- e-mail, IMBRA RFE received at VSC

09/11/06- called VSC, told I'm with an adjudicating officer

09/25/06- called VSC, told to file expedited service, outside 60 days of RFE received date

09/26/06- sent expedited service request to VSC via fax and snail mail

09/26/06- Senators and Congressman making inquiries into my petition

09/29/06- expedited service request approved by VSC director

10/04/06- e-mail NOA2 approved!!!!!!

10/05/06- NVC received

10/06/06- NVC forwarded to Poland Embassy

10/16/06- Packet #3 received

10/17/06- Packet #3 sent to US Embassy Warsaw

10/30/06- Packet #4 received

We are now at 155 days as of today.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
