MY wife is waiting in Russia till an interview for our granson to come on a tourist visit us in America.

We tried to get the whole family to come earlier but thery weew turned down.

Now we would like her grandson to dome. He i under 14 so should not have to have an interview but they are makin hime come to Moscow anyway along withs his parents.

Can anyone answer these questions.

1) do both parents have to come to the interview. They are 12 hours from Moscow, this is very expensive for transportation.

2) Can his grandma come to the interview.

3) Do they normally deny these types of visa's

Thanks for your information.

Does he not have school to go to?

a tourist visa does not allow a child to attend school here and even with a student visa in most states you can't send him to public schools for free. You have to pay his way which would usually mean a private school.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Have you applied for a tourist visa or a student visa?

Tourist visa , he will be going to a private school.

He needs a F1 Student visa, the B Visa will be refused.

The International Admissions Officer at the school should have told you what was required.

He is only 9 years old, there must be a way for a grandson to visit his grandmother. I don't think you can get a student visa at 9 years old..............

TO be accepted into school here he needs a student visa. They are rarely given to children because the recipient must demonstrate that THEY can support them self through the period of the visa and very few children have the 15 k or so to demonstrate this. A visitors visa is just that , to visit / vacation in the US and would not be given to a boy intending on going to school here. Even if he is given one it wouldn't be for a while school year and to enter the country intending on going to school with a visitors visa. He is rather young to be strapped an immigration fraud charge.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I quoted your previous comments.
