Hello all.

I have a strange one here. I'll try to make is short and to the point.

I sent the I-485, I-765 and the I-131 in with a check for $1610. The fee was for my wife and son.

I got 3 rejection notices back. Yes 3.

The first one on the 485 said my check was wrong. It stated the filing fee is 930 plus 80 for fingerprints. A total of 1010.

The second one was with the I-765 and said the fee is 340 but is free if filed with the I-485. Ok. Total still should be $1010 at this point.

The third was on the I-131 and said the fee was 305 but would be free if filed with the I-485. Total still $1010.

But on their website it says that if her son (who is 4) files with her it is an additional 600 for a total of $1610. And I sent them $1610.

Should I just send them the $1010 now and wait for them to tell me it is wrong again? I included everything for the son to also adjust status. Copy of BC, copy of Visa in mothers passport, and a I-485 filled out for him.

Any ideas? Did I just get a newbie who looked at my paperwork. Any ideas as to what I did wrong?

Thanks,

Steve

Steve,

I suggest that you send 2 separate checks, 1 for $1010 and the other for $600. Also, include a letter explaining why you sent them 2 separate checks. Remember, we're dealing with the US Gov't. so we have to spell everything out for them.

Good luck and keep us posted.

If you get transferred to CSC it's almost guaranteed you do not have to do an interview. That's what happened to us which was a big relief to not have to get together more evidence. Check out my timeline

It looks like you were correct.......Biometrics were taken on 10-12-2010 and EAD card was ordered 3 days later on 10-15-2010... 3 days is not bad at all...:dance:

Hey all - just got a rejection notice for ours...grrrr! but at least they say we can re-send - reason: "the application was filed on an outdated version of the form". I've gone through all the forms and none have expired soooo kind of lost. The I-864 we filed expires on 10/31/2010...maybe that's it?

I'm just glad it was "rejected" and not "denied", right? I plan on sending attempt #2 early this week.

Thanks in advance if you guys have any ideas/advice!

Hey Guys,

Nice to see a thread for the dec filers! :)

Just to chip in, I didnot visit a civil surgeon in the US at all to file for my AOS. I just sent a copy of the medical records that were obtained as a part of the K1 process. There has been some discussion on this on visajourney. I just figured if i needed to do anything more i'd get an RFE and since I would get my AP and EAD independent of it, an RFE wouldn't affect me all that much. I guess there is nothing wrong in getting it out of the way. i also read that ppl have been approved with just the k1 meds.

Well, my AP and EAD are approved and I will let you guys know about the green card.

Sowmya

An update from this post.

I had completed my medicals and vaccination from india. My vaccination record said ' Vaccination Record incomplete but may be eligible for a blanket waiver since some of the vaccines are age incomplete'.

I don;t know why the phycisian there checked that since all the vaccinations I needed were complete, tetanus, mmr and varicella. The other tests for TB etc were also complete.

Anyway dyring our interview the Co said that since the vaccination record said incomplete we'd have to go to a civil surgeon and get it transcribed.

We got an RFE at the interview and have asked to mail back the civil surgeon record, to get the green card. So just to clarify, your K1 medicals are enough if the vaccination sheet says vaccination records complete else u need to go to the civil surgeon.

Hey guys... An update from the "December couple left behind"...

Missuzu finally had her interview with the US embassy in Rio de Janeiro on Oct 19... The visa was APPROVED!!!!

The only problem was that they found a discrepancy in her Brazilian passport, so she will have to get a new one (takes about a week) before they can put the visa in the passport. But the bottom line is that we are approved, and we can finally move on with our life/future!

Realistically, we think that Missuzu won't come to the US until sometime in December (still have a lot of work to do to prepare for the big move). But it looks like we will have a very happy Christmas together.

Just wanted to share the good news.

Dec. 28, 2009... NOA 1

Dec. 31, 2009... Touched

May 12, 2010... Nice guy at the USCIS mercifully sent a Service Request to the VSC to inquire about our petition

May 27, 2010... Received an e-mail stating that the VSC received the Service Request. Unfortunately, the e-mail also states that the processing time for service requests is 3 MONTHS!!

June 28, 2010... Heard from my senator that the USCIS is going to send me a RFE on July 1 asking for a certified copy of my birth certificate. Why do they have to wait until July 1 to ask for this??

July 13, 2010... Received an e-mail from the VSC explaining the delay in processing our petition. Apparently, the USCIS had put on hold all petitions from US citizens born with Puerto Rican birth certificates (like me). On July 1, USCIS headquarters finally gave clearance for these petitions to be processed.

July 26, 2010... Touch

July 27, 2010... Received text message and e-mail stating that our petition was approved on July 26!! We finally received our NOA 2!!

July 31, 2010... NVC received our approved petition

August 2, 2010... Received paper copy of our NOA2

August 4, 2010... Received letter from NVC confirming receipt of our approved petition

August 13, 2010... US embassy in Brazil received the approved petition

August 23, 2010... Missuzu received Packet 3/4

October 19, 2010... Interview... VISA APPROVED!!!

November 4, 2010... Missuzu received her passport with visa

December 27, 2010... POE... Houston, Texas

December 28, 2010... We got married!

Congrats Norm!
