Ok Peeps as most of you know or will know our interview was for an IR2 Son of a LPR. He passed the interview with hardly any questions at all. Dad was not even allowed up to the window however I think his being there helped a lot. Not even a request for a DNA test. This son was born out of wedlock. Very happy for Hubby right now. Woo Hoo

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

Had my medicals 2 weeks before my interview and it took only 3 days(2 appointments) to complete. My interview was at 7am. I was at the embassy by 5:30am. By 6:30 a guard came and told those for an immigrant visa appointment at 7am to stand in a line, and those for non immigrant visa to stand in a seperate line. We entered a hall and were given IV numbers. I was first in line so got IV 1, but for some odd reason I wasn't the first to be interviewed. I was like the 8th.

We entered the embassy, and skipped a long line by the left hand side where visa fees were being paid, I already at the nvc stage so didn't have to pay again. I went in and sat down. A nigerian lady called me and collected my documents - international passport, 3 passport pictures, & medical result. After some minutes a blonde caucasian lady in her 30s interviewed me. The asian lady was interviewing non immigrant visa applicants. My interview started with the blonde lady taking my fingerprints and asking me to raise my right hand and swear to say nothing but the truth, and I said I swear. After that she asked me the following questions.

Who filed for you? When did she go to the US?How did she go?Why did she decide to stay back in the US?How many brothers and sisters do u have? Did ur mother file for them? Where is ur father? Is he still married to ur mother? Did ur mother file for him? Are u the first or last girl? Do u have any proof of relationship? I answered yes and showed her my album. She went through them and asked me to show her which girl I was in one of the pics. She giggled at one of the pics, it was probably funny to her. She also asked - what state does ur mum live in? What's her job and where does she work? What job do I have? What course did I study? What will I do when I get to the US? Do I have any other relations in the US? I said yes, and she asked if that was why she decided to stay back in the US? I said no. Then I was told I was approved. Becos my brother had his interview a day before mine she put his name as the person that will collect my visa and also said he will also collect my other brother and my dad's visa

That was kind of a hint that they would be approved. It seems like they decided to approve it even before the interview. In the end the only evidence they looked at was the pictures which I had made into a flipbook with the help of snapfish.com and arranged from childhood family pics to most current pics. All the other truck load of evidence I had gathered were not even looked at. My siblings and dad were asked very similar questions but framed in a different way. Hopefully my older brother & sister will be called within the next 2 yrs for their interview(there's no visa number yet for their category). After almost 5 years of filing and 8 years of being apart, more than half of my family will be together atlast! Thank u Lord!

Just an update...1 year and 2 months after our journey began, we are approved! I got notice this morning from the embassy in Chennai that my husband's visa was approved. We rescheduled the interview for October 4th and due to my change of jobs at the end of september, they denied his visa initially pending supporting documentation of my income (blue sheet). We got everything submitted to the VFS in Bangalore 10 days ago and when I emailed the embassy last night to inquire the status of our case they replied this morning with the approval notice! So thank you to all who have helped along the way. Now if we can actually convince his parent to "let" him move here...we will all be good!
