Congratulations gurububba!! :) Did your sister tell you exactly how long it will take for her passport to come? Generally its two weeks..we wanted to make travel plans so i was just wondering if they tell you a specific time or is it a general 'couple of weeks'??

Consulate told her that she may collect the passports from American Express in Lahore in a "couple of weeks". She was given some sort of purple slip that she will need to show to collect them.

Thanks aui2010. My sister and her family had their interview 8:00 am in Islamabad. They were all approved and will receive their passports with visas in a couple of weeks.

Best of luck to fellow VJ'ers on your upcoming interviews.

So i am very happy to announce that my visa has been APPROVED !!!!!!!

I can pick my passport up on the 15th and our flights haven been booked, we are flying to Alaska on the 21st :)))))!!!!

Ok so our daughter is going to have her first birthday without daddy, but a few days after that we will be together again!

So the interview itself was pretty nerve wrecking just cause it seemed to take forever...

My appointment was at 2pm, but i made sure i was there an hour ahead...so did lots of other people  .

So by the time it was my turn an hour and half had past... Finally got inline inside the embassy and a lady asked if ther was anybody for immigrant visa...

Happy to say that i was the only one who said yes :), so i had to go up to the window and she had a bunch of papers in front of her....She asked me for the medical results and made me swear that everything in the paperwork and what i was about to say is the truth!

I said i swear and she went over all the paperwork with a checklist to make sure nothing was missing! Big releave everything was there :)!

She told me to take a seat again and that later on they would call me to get fingerprinted...half an hour later fingerprints and got asked to sit down again.

So i was really stressing out from all the waiting... about an hour later, called me up to the window again for the actual interview...

They asked me all sorts of questions:

-where did you meet?

-How long before you mett in person ?

-how many times did you fly out there ?

-marriage date ?

-where did you get married ?

-who where your witnesses ?

-What does your husband do for a living ?

-Do his parents like you and visa versa ?

-...

-...

She also wanted to see our pictures, albums and asked how we communicated: printed out skype history...

So finally she said ...well for me you passed. I thought FOR ME...so is someone else going to interview me know ????!!!!

Are you taking turns tormenting people ???!!!

So i asked does this mean i am approved and she said yes!!!! :))))) pick up passport next week woooohhhhooooooo :))))

aui2010 FYI, my sister already received the passports. Interview was on Friday in Isl and passports w/ visa were returned on Wednesday in Lahore. So the consulate did not take all of the 2 week time.

Yeah i don't think you can ever take to much info, if they don't request it good...if they do request it and you don't have it...:bonk: .

So have you recieved any information from the embassy about the stroller/diaperbag question ?

Hope your interview goes as smooth as mine, i know how hard it is as a mommy to go through this process by yourself!!
