my moderator removed statement was in no way disparaging. it was simply reporting of the truth. it was in content, and in style, not unlike obama's statement, which i do not expect the moderator to remove.

the wayans brothers produced In Living Color in the 80's and 90's, and made fun of stereotypes about teh black community. they got away with it, because they were black. plain and simple, it's the truth.

No, that is not what I mean either. Racism is not just a matter of labels. Some comments made in a topic that may appear to be racist in nature may be using what appears to be a racist comment in a humorous or sarcastic or ironic fashion as a way to pinpoint the actual racist comments - to point a light on the actual racism. If you use 'humour' as indicated by smiley emoticons but your intent is really a 'veiled' racist comment, then pretending it is humour will not work. Humour that is meant to denigrate and degrade is still racist. Granted, it can sometimes be a fine line and whether or not one a post crosses it is going to be a subjective decision, still that is what I meant.

We pause for a snarky and gloating announcement about the embarassment Shirley Sherrod has caused this administration. Ms. Sherrod says the White House was so upset by the video that they called her as she was driving, ordering her to pull over and resign immediately because Glenn Beck was featuring her on his show,
