Will I ever get my SSN?

Hello peoples,

I am going crazy over here....I POE on June 3rd 2010.

Since then I have received 3 "Welcome to the USA" letters. IS this normal? Has this happened to anyone else??

I went down to my local SSN office to file for a SSN. Well....no one there is familiar with typing my information into the system. So they copied my documents and said they will call me back.....

I wish I could call someone like USCIS to find out what the deal is. Do i have a SSN already in the system? If not, What does the person at SSN office type into the system....when do i get my Perm Res Card ?? Can I have the # and expiration date provided to me?

I Have a job all lined up, but this information is required. I would really hate to have a great opportunity pass me by.

It seems a lot of people here received their SSN with 1 month of POE. It has been 1 month and a half!!

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR~!!!!!!!

Anyone with something insightful to say ?? Please, I'm losing my mind!! LOL.

4/3/13 RFE more divorce info requested and marriage certificate(which I had already sent)

4/9/13 mailed additional info

4/19/13 I130 approved

5/10/13 NVC received

5/16/13 Called NVC and got Case #s and Invoice ID #s

5/17/13 USCIS website states: Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again.

5/24/13 Paid AOS ($88.00) fee online

5/30/13 Emailed I-864 package for both kids

6/3/13 paid IV bill $230 x 2 kids

6/5/13 IV bill shows paid, DS260 available

6/14/13 CHILDREN'S PASSPORTS ARRIVED!!!!

6/14/13 filed online DS-260 for both kids

6/16/13 emailed Supporting docs for DS-260 for both kids

7/9/13 CHECKLIST for both kids...sad.png

7/9/13 checklist response sent (birth certs and passport Bio Page <again>)

8/2/13 CHECKLIST both kids

8/3/13 checklist response sent (I-864 AGAIN and paystubs - sent last 6 paystubs)

8/28/13 ***** INTERVIEW SCHEDULED***** for 10/9/13

9/11/13 Medicals completed in Toronto @ Dr. Seiden's office

whoa -

go back to SSA office, get a supervisor, ask to be looked up in the SAVE database.

You might have to go back a few times. WHEN THEY CAN FIND YOU in the SAVE database - is then SAFE to apply for SSN.

Usually, this 'we'll call you back' #######, is just that - as they were SUPPOSED TO LOOK YOU UP IN THE SAVE DATABASE, first,

and then, only then, mumble the magic words (if they can't find you) -

'Sorry, need DSH/USCIS electronic verification, this will take 30 days'

so.

take yer passport, and birth certificate, go back, get a supervisor this time, mention a lookup in the SAVE database.

Well...here's an update.

I GOT MY PERM RES. CARD TODAY!!!!

So Hopefully this will help the SSN office.

I will def. tell them about the SAVE database ---thank you for that information. Do you know if they can tell me wht my SSN # will be ?? Or do I have to wait for that to come in the mail before I know my #?

2/7/13 mailed I130 x 2

2/14/13 checks cashed $420 x 2

if the SSN application was successfully taken (IE - no SAVE DATABASE issues) -

then you can return 2 days later, and get yer #. Not the card, but the number.

Went to the SSN office today, and sure enough they were about to put through my application!

She said in 1 week I can call and get the SSN #, and within 2 weeks the card will come in the mail.
