About brining photos to the interview

Do we have to bring physical copies of photos to the interview? all of the pictures we've ever taken were on digital camera, and it would be much more convenient to bring them on a CD or in another digital format. or should we print them out?

You cannot bring a CD or use a different digital format (well you could, but they would not get seen), but you can print them out, multiple pictures to a page.

I used powerpoint's album function to organize the photos in chronological order. I did 4 to a page then just printed them all out on normal paper.

If the positive outcome of the AOS is important to you, you not only will have the photos printed out, but arranged in a nice album that shows how much you care. You want to make it as easy as possible for the Immigration Officer to like and to approve you. If that takes $10.00 or $15.00 and an hour or two away from our quality time, it's a very small price to pay.

My wife an I brought two albums: the "Wedding" album and the "other" album. If you need $100 to achieve your goal, our wedding album was worth $90 alone. Everything else was just change.

We brought 12 or so selected pictures. Officer looked at them and asked to make a copy of one for his file. We had an easy approval.

We did exactly the same. Our IO seemed quite pleased with the albums, and discussed the photos with us for a while. It is worth it to spend some time on this, and you will have the albums for yourself after.

agree on these two (with JUST BOB).... i like our albums organized and have captions... the IO took notice of it...even asked who added the captions and i guess impressed at the time and effort spent on them...

the pictures alone got us approved... we volunteered our co-mingling documents after he looked at only 1 album (we brought 2)but the pictures speak a thousand words.

We brought family photos labeled with the date they were taken, as well as the names of friends and family who were with us in the photos. We arranged them chronologically on quality paper, and simply clipped them all together.

One thing we were told is that 95% of the people who come in are not organized!

Our being organized made a world of difference to the interviewer - who even asked if we'd had an attorney assist us! We did not.

Organization was simple. We simply put EVERY PEICE OF CORRESPONDENCE WE HAVE EVER RECEIVED FROM USCIS, along with other required documents (marriage license, birth certs, etc) in a binder with plastic sleeves. Very inexpensive to do (under $20) and we had everything she could have possibly asked for right there in the book, (of which we have copies online as well) were something to happen to our originals.

Take the time to do it right. We were in and out in 20 minutes, and the green card arrived within 2 weeks.
