I am a US citzen and I just sent the I29-f to get my Australian fiance here. I am so antsy, I recieved my NOA1 and am just on pins and needles waiting for the NOA2. The only thing that we are worried about is how far the US consulate in Australia is away from him. But I am so glad I found this site, it has answered so many questions for me, although I am sure in the time to come I will have alot more! Wish us luck (L)

04/08 Met online playing World of Warcraft

09/08 Met in person for the first time

(3 more trips in between)

05/10 File I29F to get him here so we live happily ever after <3

Some people come into our lives and queitly stay. Others stay for awhile, leaving foot prints in hearts and we are never the same.

8/1/12: ROC window opens
9/4/12: ROC packet sent
9/8/12: ROC packet delivered to VSC
9/12/12: Check cashed
9/14/12: NOA letter received (NOA dated 9/10/12)
9/20/12: Biometrics letter received (Bio appointment 10/15/12)
10/12/12: Early biometrics walk-in

4/27/13: RFE received

6/17/13: RFE response sent

7/1/13: ROC petition approved

7/5/13: GC received in the mail.

Congratulations on your filing and welcome to the one place where we understand what it's like to be apart from a loved one.

You have a wait ahead of you but this is the time to plan for the future. Start looking into what is going to be required of you after the NOA 2 is approved, talk about the future.....but stay busy or the wait will drive you crazy!

We love answering questions here and there is a wealth of knowledge to be found on this site. It's likely that a lot of the questions you have, will have been asked before. Use the search engine to browse the site and you will astounded by how much information is available to you.

AOS complete!

08/21/2009 - AOS package sent

08/28/2009 - NOA 1 for AOS, EAD, AP

08/31/2009 - Cheque cashed

09/05/2009 - Biometrics notice received

09/23/2009 - Biometrics Appointment

09/23/2009 - I-485 Transferred to CSC

10/02/2009 - EAD Approved (card production) & AP approved!

10/11/2009 - EAD Card received

10/20/2009 - AOS approved, GC card production ordered! (53 days in total)

10/26/2009 - Green Card received - nearly 11 months to the day of our K1 NOA 1!

11/25/2009 - Started my new job!

02/26/2010 - Passed my driving test :-p

07/20/2011 - Eligible to remove conditions

2012 - Going for citizenship

09/20/2011 - Removal of conditions submitted to VSC....here we go...again!

It's been a quick and relatively painless journey thanks to tireless research, dumb luck and this community :)

DONE with USCIS for a while :)

Hey there! The initial wait might seem like a long time, but once you receive the NOA2, it won't seem that it was all that bad. Just keep yourself mentally occupied and busy and time will fly by. All the best to you and your fiance! :thumbs:
