There's a couple of bad apples everywhere you go. Most aren't like that and trying to make it into a mass scale thing is absurd. Profiling takes place all over the country already whether you like it or not...

The law is worded near perfect though and works out great.

It's pretty simple:

-Cop pull someone over for violation

-Cop asks for ID/insurance/etc.

-Person cannot provide ID

-Cop asks for Name/address

-Person gives A "name/address"

-Cop looks up in their database (which is national now btw)

-Person doesn't show up in database. Therefore cannot be ID'd.

-Cop arrests individual - proceeds to contact Feds.

-Turns out person is illegal. Gets deported.

-Is cop found to be misusing authority? =>

-Cop is punished accordingly.

It's pretty simple actually and sends a clear message.

That koolaid must be really good... You think that a hateful little ####### working for a PD (:o They exist, sources: my dad in law, former cop) will only stop to investigate when an individual commits a crime? They will act like the CBP on steroids, just watch and see. It may be effective to deport a few people, but while they are checking backgrounds, the real criminals will have a blast. You know that a Sheriff Dept. already claims they are being overrun? Wonder how those wussies are gonna deal with that at the same time.

And the law even provides punishment for those haywire cops like your dad in law.

Ok...

I would go for half, at least...

Dont get me wrong, I'm hardly one for giving more power to the authorities, but its pretty hard to deport someone who HAS the proper documents.

I love Jan Brewer! The woman has America first gonads that a lot of our lesser politicians lack. When the traitors in the Obama admin come after her state for doing what's right as they do nothing, she doesn't flinch and gives as good as she gets. I love that! I love her!

You know that a Sheriff Dept. already claims they are being overrun?

I wonder who they are overrun by. Hint: California wastes $1 billion annually on the illegal version let alone the legal version.

Those must be the few million that didn't make it to NASA.. ;)

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

The irony is that you think you are being smart... Hint: You are not.

What did the US ever do to Australia to get you thrown this way???? Speaking about waste: Air for starters; space, which may be a lot based on the article posted before, not for sure though; and the time of the people that are subjected to your logic.

Wait, based on our previous conclusions regarding the big wall of ####### in the other thread, it does not surprise me anymore that you want to go defend the border... Hey, you may be a big help down in AZ after all!

PS - Why go to a big fat planet in outer space when you can take a trip down under, and see them roaming around?

Substitute "detain" for arrest. The police can detain you to determine who you are but they can not arrest you for simply lacking ID (unless you were driving without a license).

Also police can not arrest you without "probable cause". They may detain with "reasonable suspicion", but you are technically free to go once your name and address is given unless probable cause has been determined.

You must be on an illegal substance if you are hearing something. Reading, that's another thing... I appreciate the feedback though.

Xenophobic attitudes? Get real...

It's not just about illegal immigrants, it's also about national security. You've got to know who the hell is in your nation.

I agree with your comment.

to put it in a similar twist.

Let's say that someone broke into your house, is that person an undocumented guest or is he an intruder.

Would I call the police to remove this person, yes and so would everyone.

When I go to bed at night do I know who is in my house, yes and I like to keep it that way.

This is the same for our country, it's our house let's take care of it.

on a separate note, we all really worked hard, paid the appropriate fees, and patiently waited to come to this country legally and to allow the illegal immigrants (undocumented guests or intruders) to become citizens and to get the same benefits would be wrong in so many cases.

Uh, it's not even news worthy to say that the hack that runs the show in Arizona is an idiot, everyone knows that. I don't see how stating the obvious violates national security...

It's really funny how everyone wants to gain political power by enforcing immigration laws. What these idiots fail to see is that the Constitution rules on top of them, and they CANNOT get out of that. Meaning, a state's jurisdiction cannot jump the Fed counterpart, even if the Fed's system is not working.

So, the governor of Arizona signs a Bill that has overwhelming support in both her own state and the country as a whole, a Bill which does its best to mirror current Federal law, with a couple of more restrictive caveats that ICE has to adhere to, and people like you call her a "hack" and an "idiot".

So any politician who actually represents their constituents instead of toeing the "party line" and letting the negligence of Washington continue in their constituency is an idiot? That there is a good reason why politics in this country is so divisive. Only on this issue, the country itself isn't so divided. With between 60% and 70% support nationwide, Governor Brewer is doing her job ... you know, the one the people who voted her in as governor elected her to do. Or are you calling 70% of this country idiots, too?

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself
