Filing I-751 (wife will be working away from me maybe months or yr)

Hi Vjers,

Wife is going to work in cali(we live in vegas) jst to meet our financial needs..she had a very difficult time finding a job here..so she has relatives in cali that can give her a job..we are taking the risk of maybe having a hard time filing I-751 since we were separated for certain period of time..we know they'll gonna question us regarding that issue..we can show/send them evidences of our bona fide marriage..

DOES ANYONE HAVE THE SAME SITUATION BEFORE FILING I-751..?PLEASE TELL ME UR EXPERIENCED ABOUT THIS ISSUE SO WE KNOW WHAT'S AHEAD OF US..

I don't have a personal experience, but I know it happens for some peope while studying. Make sure you can prove joint ownership and finances and get affidavits from people who know you and can testify that you have a bone fide marriage.

You can even do a letter if you feel it helps. If you see each other at least on week-ends and all it should help.

That's right, they likely won't know unless you tell them. And honestly it's situation dependent, too. When I had my AOS interview, my wife and I lived in 2 separate states. But it made perfect sense for both of us not to move together yet since we were seniors at our respective universities. So if you intend to bring it up, make sure you have a very valid reason to back it up.

so when u guys filed the AOS u both used only one address..?cuz theres also question there (any address used for the past yr etc)..

If both your LEGAL addresses remain the same, and they should, you're OK with the I-751. If she goes out and gets a California drivers' license, then you have a problem.

no shes not gonna submit AR-11..cuz shes jst going to work in cali for like a year then shes moving back here again maybe before we file the I-751..

i reviewed again the form I-751 and theres the question on Part 3 number 9: Haev you recided at any address since you became a permanent resident? (I f "yes" attache a list of all the addresses and dates.)That's the exact question..So should we put the address shes reciding in cali..?

If both your LEGAL addresses remain the same, and they should, you're OK with the I-751. If she goes out and gets a California drivers' license, then you have a problem.

If it is temporary situation I would not

She has not changed her place of residence by temporarily staying with a relative. From a legal standpoint, she still resides with you.
