Germany was busy defending their own goal for about 70 minutes of the game, they couldn't pass a ball and when they did they usually lost it. How frustrating. Seeing that game I'm wondering how they actually got to the semifinals.

That was also almost the case in the game against Argentina. I think the fact that Spain actually has defense played a role here.

Слава Україні!

So really, there's no actual reason why Spain should even play tonight. Other than Germany needing to warm up for the final. ;)

Poor Germany, now they need to warm up for 3rd place.

Actually, my husband is so upset that Germany lost, although his family is from Spain. He said, "you cheering for Espana is that you just want to be the opposite of me. We're just like the War of the Roses"

they obviously didn't play shittty like that the whole time, it's always a mind game for Germany. one of the good players ends up suspended, Mueller or Klose and they play like #######. Plus spain really played a perfect defense. Germany looked like a bunch of Chorknaben compared to the spanish team. (sorry dont know the english word). I really thought they could beat spain but once again lack of confidence was what ruined it for them. :crying: I'm ironically predicting another 4:0 against Uruguay.

That's always Germany's downfall - we suck at playing defensively. Do you think the useless captain debate that Lahm (and BILD) started needlessly a couple days ago contributed to the lack of harmony in the team today? I have a feeling that it did cause the confusion that the team showed on the field today.

Yeah, yeah. I was way off. But how could anyone have known that the German team today is the same that played against Serbia rather than the team we saw beating England and Argentina? I always said, Germany is unstoppable as long as the boys keep it together. They clearly didn't. The team that played against an excellent squad from Spain today was not the team that sent England and Argentina home in shame. Not even close.

Spain dominated today and won. They deserved it.

oh #######, germany lost. lemme be the first to offer my condolences to big dog

Well the German defence doesn't suck as bad as the England defence.

Germany sucks at a defensive game. I feel like they were more concerned with not taking the first goal than they were with scoring it. The Mannschaft seems to take that approach from time to time and whenever they do, they lose. I could not believe how poorly they performed today. It was painful to watch. But they're a young team and they'll be back.

The tempo of the game suited Spain a lot more than it did Germany. Spain can do that to any team once they start finding each other with those neat little passes and the off-the-ball movement. Germany managed to raise the tempo against England and Argentina but couldn't do it today. That's because Spain are a top quality team with very skillful players.

Germany has nothing to be ashamed of and I hope they get a great welcome back home.

thanks. I know that. I meant Mueller this time and Klose during the Serbia game.

Mr Big Dog: I didn't see much team play either, I was surprised about Lahms comment about not wanting to step down as captain.

I must say though...if Spain should win this cup then they would probably be the slowest world champion ever. They take their sweet time with passing balls and they are boring to watch. I have never seen a team so slow but yet strong at the same time.

As for the Germans...even the look in their faces showed that they were insecure and didn't really know what to do.
