Our laws (and the brave men and women who defend them - our lawyers) are no laughing matter. They are what defines us. At our worst moments, they are all we have.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

We are a nation of laws, not of people.

Mexicans need to turn their rage on their own government just as we did against the Brits.

I was a Police Officer for 6 years and I once faced a mob of 300 in the dark on my own (with only a little stick for protection) ...

Only a stick? I take it you served in a society that did not deem it worthy to enable you with the tools you needed for your own self defense. You have my condolences. That said, your worst days are now behind you, so please accept my heartiest congratulations in finally being a resident of the land of the free.

What I can't abide is people tapping into their politics where the police are always right and the colored illegals are always wrong.

How about doing the opposite and assuming that [by nature] illegal aliens are peaceful? It's not America's or Americans responsibility to find out who is peaceful or who is not. Hence such people being vetted out using a legal immigration.

I find it fascinating that the same people who accuse others of simply hating colored illegal aliens [generalization] are the same who assume all are here with good intentions [again generalizing].

I am not going to distrust all police [also generalizing] because of one or two bad apples. Without adequate law and order - including border protection - we would be a third world country.

Do you seem the pattern in those viewpoints?

The pebble could be coated with poison. You just don't know before the pebble hits you. Do you wait for the pebble to hit you or do you shoot? In the absence of data regarding the pebble itself, you must shoot. It's the only way.

Poisoned stones? Are you serious? This is the most idiotic thing I've read in a long time.

Note, I am a Mexican national, and in no way support illegal immigration. I agree with the fact that the Mexican government needs to fix things, but coming from there, I don't think that's even possible... The Mexican people need a radical change in politics and in some cases each of the citizen's mindset before things get moving over there. Sad to say this, considering there are a lot of honest, hard working people out there. I guess that they have to pay too as far as reputation is concerned.

Before you go preaching you know a lot about the situation with Mexico, and feel the Red, White and Blue flowing through you, keep in mind you came (or brought someone) here from other parts of the world, the difference is they (illegal immigrants) did not do it the right way. Also, even if it may be in smaller quantities, there maybe illegal aliens from your neck of the woods, so feel free to get the torches and pitchforks for them as well. How about we hate on the people from Belarus and Canada for a bit, huh? So you know, unless you are a Navajo, Sioux, Apache, etc. odds are you are immigrants or descend from them (even illegals).

Some don't understand that there's one thing called human rights, and you cannot bypass those, as they are stipulated in this country's (and I'm sure others too) Constitution.

Again, I am not a supporter of illegal imigration, and I have a thing against ignorant outbursts like the one our Canadian colleague had...

I was a Police Officer for 6 years and I once faced a mob of 300 in the dark on my own (with only a little stick for protection) so I know what being 'somewhat concerned' is like. Most Police Officers have a sense of balance and decency, but some abuse their position and we must always be on the look out for them. In the early days in an early posting, the whole of my shift except me, ended up in prison for theft. I know what bad Police Officers are like first hand. I saw what they did to my car with human poop coz I wouldnt join them in their activities.

What I can't abide is people tapping into their politics where the police are always right and the colored illegals are always wrong.

If that's a sanctimonious then I will own that.

This officer may be a fine officer who did the right thing, but deciding in advance of the investigation based on our politics, and denying ANY rights to the dead boy, is simply wrong.

why only six years? what were the activities?

I found and read this earlier today, before seeing this thread. It seems that CBP has broken down the percentages between "benign" and "malignant" illegals:

Research the number of UK Police killed by firearms in any given year - (you may need to find a year when it's not zero) - multiply it so it's comparable with the US population. Then look at the number of US Police killed and then tell me that American policemen are safer because of all their guns. They are dying in droves and their 'protection' is no protection

I have two Lee Enfield .303 rifles, an AR-15 assault rifle (30 round mag), a CZ target rifle , a Glock 9mm pistol (17 round mag) , a Ruger LCP 380 and a Ruger 22 target pistol. I live in a totally right wing area and my friends are all semi militia right wing nut jobs who would drown any illegal they met if they thought they could get away with it. At the same time they fully support the constitution, all US laws and they are all avid followers of Jesus. Go figure.

I still think US gun laws are too lax and it should harder for 'just anyone' to acquire all this stuff. I did have to tick a box to confirm I wasn't crazy - now that's funny.

Poisoned stones? Are you serious? This is the most idiotic thing I've read in a long time.

An individual you do not know wishes to evade you and has in his possession a bag of pebbles. His body movements make clear his intention to use them as projectiles against you.

That is the information you have. That is all the information you have.

Are the pebbles poisoned? You don't know.

Are the pebbles more sophisticated weaponry in guise of pebbles? You don't know.

What you do know is that objects of unknown lethality will soon be used against you as projectiles by an individual breaking the law.

Shooting him was the only option.

I got an idea, lets take the border patrols guns and give them "I love you" signs. This is just another demonize america campaign. Nothing more.
