John's never said that to me, but then he has a very strong sense of the fact that certain things once said, can never be taken back.

People are different though and some will say something in the heat of the moment in order to hurt you which they don't really mean. It's a hard thing to hear though and I hope you two sort it out

For us, it doesn't mean I hate you, it means we don't know how to have an argument and deal with our anger and so we say hurtful things back and forth. I would give the situation a little time to cool off-wait until he calls you again and see what he says. More than likely he won't even think to mention it because he was probably so heated and emotional that he said it without thinking.

WOW, I guess everyones relationship is different. I would think that being comfortable saying that and hearing that would have negative consequences. Especially over time. I hope for the best here but definately not what I would want. Communication is key.

Well I would guess since all individuals are different, yes you'd be having each relationship be different...not rocket science here. It's not about being comfortable saying that or hearing it. It's about understanding yourself and your partner enough to know that they don't really hate you, they're just angry and not sure how to go about expressing that any differently. Now, you can get into a whole big pouty huff over it and cause even more relationship drama or you can simply take it for what it's worth-not a lot. One of the key things in a relationship is communication, and if our way is working for us, why does that have to be negative? I'm happy, he's happy, we're both 100% confident in our love for each other...we're about to get married finally after about 4 years of waiting, and we actually have been getting along much better lately than ever!

Mandi so sorry to hear this, we had some awful rows when we were apart, even went 4 days without speaking once and we were both miserable.

The distance thing makes it that much harder but you will come out the other side of this stronger

Mandi, I hope you feel better this morning. No he never said he hates me but I HATE IT when he goes to sleep after an argument and does not say nothing. I hate it when I try to settle it and he just goes to sleep like he does not care.

Well, he said this to me right before going to work. Then, he left. I haven't talked to him since, except for a couple sms. And, now, I have to leave for work soon, and he's not home from work yet, but I hope he comes home soon. I miss him so much. I need to talk to him before I have to go to work. I LOVE HIM!!!
