You don't put the amount from the W2s or the job letter - you take the amount from his tax return. The amount on the tax return and the amount on the I-864 must match.

"For purposes of demonstrating means to maintain income, the determining income amount is the income, before deductions, on the sponsor’s income tax return. In other words, income means an individual's total income (adjusted gross income for those who file IRS Form 1040EZ) for purposes of the individual's U.S. Federal income tax liability, including a joint income tax return (e.g., line 22 on the 2005 IRS Form 1040, line 15 on the 2005 IRS Form 1040-A, or line 4 on the 2005 IRS Form 1040EZ or the corresponding line on any future revision of these IRS Forms)". link

Bring updated I-864 packets to interview day (since you already have an interview date).

You should contact yer co-sponser, explain to him about the change, have the documents sent to you directly.

You'll need to show the document screener person and/or the Consular Officer the updated I-864. Do not wait to be asked about it - bring it up early in the conversation.

Do what Darnell suggested. Just bring a new 864 packet from your cosponsor with you to the interview. After you get your number and they call you up to the first window, give them the new 864 packet with whatever supporting documents is needed and any other papers you have. *like your divorce decree from previous marriage* Don't wait for them to ask, have them in hand and ask them IF they want it. It'll show them you are on top of your game and ready for them to give you the visa!!

Good luck Aishah, I know you guys will do great!!!good.gif

Hello Darnell,

We received a Checklist Letter Response from NVC for my son 12 years old.

From NVC.

We urge you to send in the DS-230 forms and required civil documentation for each traveling family member in one

package to the National Visa Center?

This is my question. What is civil documentation?

Please help me...

Thank you,

Sheila

AdamW - if you are certain it's official, and not a copy -

then call back, ask for supervisor -

then ask the supervisor to request an 'eyeball review' of the birth certificate -

and tell the supervisor that is huge possibility that the reviewing clerk had no idea what he/she/it was looking at.

Seriously.
