Hey guys,

I have a questions about the I-693 for the AOS process. I know my husband wont need another medical exam because we are filing within a year of his overseas exam, but do we need to complete Part 1 of I-639 and have a civil surgeon complete part 2?

I have seen this on the guides, but have also seen other people's info about what they have sent in and this was not included?

Thank you for any help!!

Cheers!

Meggie.

The VJ Guides suggest doing this. We did this and haven't had any RFEs. Some have not done this and also have not had any RFEs. Some have not done this and also did have RFEs. I don't remember any reports of folks doing this, having CS transcribe the vaccination records onto the I-693 AND also having an RFE for that.

So my suggestion, Do It!

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Basically if the vaccination record says "incomplete" it's more likely you'll get an RFE. If it says "complete" it's less likely.

As Baron said, some people get RFE's and some don't. Just seems to be luck of the draw. Personally, as it cost $50 to have the vaccinations transcribed I decided I preferred that to wasting time with an RFE.

Real question is was the DS-3025 included in the POE packet from the foreign medical.... If it was (and vaccination history was complete) then the I-693 Part II Item 5 from the Civil Surgeon is not suppose to be needed. If it was not, then it is...

YMMV
