First of all I'd like to give thanks to this site and to all members. All the information on Visa Journey has made the filing process much easier.

Hopefully some of the members here can help me with my question. I send my I-129 Fiancee visa out on 05-05-10 and the receipt of delivery was 05-07-10. As of today I have not received any other information or has my check been cashed. I've noticed similar petitions during my time frame and it has only taken two or three days to get notification. Is this normal or perhaps something has happened to my application?

Once again thank you to all members!

Matthew

Matt,

All is well; you have to wait a few days

(only if 2-3 weeks & some days have passed with no communication should you start to panic).

You can't be sure if they have actually accepted it until you see the check cashed

or get the NOA1. They won't cash the check if your petition is not in order.

Best of luck in your VJ

Actually it took about 5 days to know for sure ....but that was only cause I called the bank to check on the check. Now you probably should hear something in about a week....It took that long for me to actually get the NOA1 in my hand. No panicking! lol

No worries, Matthew! These things tend to take ages (get used to a lot of waiting, LOL). Eight days passed between delivery notification of our AOS petition to online confirmation of our check being cashed. Crazy, huh?

Good luck w/your K-1!!

Hello! I think the First thing you have to do is , Check your Bank Information if The Amount you made to it, has been Cashed Out, there you can see the Date when it been Cashed, then You will recieve A Notice Of Action , telling that they Recieve the Amount. I f you don't have Notice of Action Yet, so it could be on the way to your Mail. Hope this make it helpful to you, Sometimes Its Depend where you live and the way the mail Man Do thier job as quick as we Expected.

Check Cashed by USCIS on May 10 and cleared my bank on May 12.

The USCIS web site states the current status of the application is under intial review.

Is this normal?

Yes, and for a long time, now begins the waiting game :star:

Really? Even for the NOA 1 ?

I've seen similar timelines and same beneficiary country sent within a day or two of mine and with them receiving approvals in 2,3, or 4 days.

Frustrating!!!

Yup. The NOA1 should eventually make its way to your mailbox. Depending on whether you are filing in Vermont or California it may be faster or slower. Check Igor's list to 'guestimate' when you may receive NOA2. USCIS says 5 months is 'goal processing time'. For us it was faster but that's not a promise. We spent our time pre-filling out the forms for the embassy phase, finding medical records, making sure we had phone records, chat logs and so on.

Just saw that you are CSC and your fiancee is from the Philippines. I believe they have a really good Philippines sub-forum so check it out.

Good luck!

Full approvals from NOA1->NOA2 in 4 days is very unlikely (even with active duty military expedited processing, it still takes longer), and in my opinion looks like someone mis-entered something. Regarding getting the NOA1 in 2-4 days, it depends on your service center and their backlog (even on receipt there can be some backlog), and how quickly their bank makes check stubs available. For whatever it is worth, my experience with the K1 process is that mail usually takes about a week from them sending it to my receiving it (with the exception of anything from the consulate in Rio, which typically took 2-3 weeks to arrive).
