Thanks for all the well wishes guys!We are so nervous. Just keep going over all the practice questions we have seen online and thinking of everything they could ask. I told my husband last night, we just have to leave it up to God now. If we don't know eachother after the past 2 1/2 years together then we never will.

One last question for anyone who knows. In reading over the checklist for the I-485, they asked for birth certificates for children either of us have...which seems kinda bizarre, as we have no children together, and most of our children are adults. With the exception of my 12 year old who lives with my ex.

I gave my oldest two their birth certificates and I only have copies. Same with my youngest, I only have a copy. The form does not specify Certified, nor original, do you think this will fly?

We are not adjusting for any children, just my husband.

Thanks

Candy

Are the children US citizens? if so, my lawyer said they will most likely not ask for the birth certificate. We don't have my husbands original only a non-certified copy(he's the USC) and the lawyer said we would probably be alright. He said worst case scenario they will ask you to fill out a form and send it in later. You should be okay. I'm so nervous as well, didn't think I would be!!

Thanks! I'm liking the star, though Felipe's many thumbs were very cool as well ;) Lawyers told us to not worry about the original birth certificate and worst case scenario if they will ask for it we'll have to come back with it. His dad is sending it express to us, but we won't get it before we have to leave tomorrow morning.

Also, dang I'm discovering so many mistakes, I should have filled out everything myself instead of hiring a lawyer! I don't know if you guys remember but in the very beginning of this process, I was nervous that the lawyer only sent the 2008 tax return for my co-sponsor? Well, they checked and told me no, they sent the 2009 and I asked again if they were sure and they said yes. Well, he gave the copies on what they sent in the other day, and looky looky NO 2009 tax return (even thought they had written that it was included on the cover letter). We never got a RFE for this, so should I not bother trying to get it from my co-sponsor? Again, we live in the country now so everyone is a hassle to get to.

Hmm.. can they scan and email you the 2009 tax return by chance?

I would say if there is a way, try to have it with you for the interview.

But if it makes you feel any better the i-864 was not even mentioned AT ALL during our interview.

I have a feeling if they didn't send you an RFE then they don't need it..

But don't take my word for it, I can't claim to understand the inner workings of our beloved USCIS :bonk:

PS: Forgot to say, good luck tomorrow hoppla! :luv:

No, she doesn't have access to a scanner, only fax and I don't have access to a fax  I guess we could leave really early and drive by her job to pick it up. Will have to talk to her about that. I think they should have sent a RFE as well if they needed it.

Okay Hoppla, you and I tomorrow! :D Good luck to us both! (well all four of us ;))

Regarding fax, you can have her fax it to a copy store like a Kinko's and you can pick it up. They charge per page for this service; just call and ask for the fax number and confirm that they do third party faxes (or whatever it's called). Problem solved!

I have a feeling I will as well :D I'm kind of a control freak and want everything to be perfect (in case you haven't noticed already haha).

We live 1.5 hr away from the Immi office and might stay and eat or something, so don't get impatient if I don't get back to you until tomorrow night ;)
