Don't they send an email with a checklist and a bar-code sheet when they give out an RFE. Did you get that email yet? If not, then maybe the AVR message is false.

Call again tomorrow, or later tonight and see what they say.

Any other ideas, people?

On April 23rd I recieved a RFE checklist email. We corrected it and then re-sent it on May 4th. On May 11th the AVR said that they have received my information. Today I called and it said that information is missing and they will send us a letter. I called the operator and she said that on her end it is in final review. I guess that the operator doesn't have the correct information. I want to believe her but then why would the AVR be updated and state that we are missing information? I am so sad.

From my case: I missed the message outlining the problem, so maybe writing about my case will help:

I was expecting a checklist (long story) and when I called today, I was told that my civil documents are fine, but that I need to resend the DS-230 form. They told me that I was scheduled to receive a checklist on the 19th. I have not yet received it, so I should get it tomorrow. The AVR has not updated yet. It still says that it received my DS-230 packet on the 12th. The operator told me that they got my other letter today (with my DS-230 form) and it's going to be reviewed. As you can see, there is a huge disconnect among the different rooms, the mailing room, the review department, the AVR people, the people who send out the checklists.

In my case, the operator knew what I was missing, while the AVR message is not yet updated. I am inclined to go with what the operator says, but it would be disappointing to later learn that she was wrong

I'm sorry my "NVC sucks" homie. I think everyone else is in the NVC is wonderful stage now that they've gotten SIF's! Congrats to all of you by the way!

Ally, did you file joint taxes? That is the only thing that we have, no bank accounts, our house is even in my name because of the difficulty in having him on there without actually being here. So, I'm hoping that the tax returns will suffice.

Unfortunately we didnt file jointly because I was due a refund that i needed for my Feb trip to see him, It was going to take much longer to wait for his ITIN, and we honestly didn't have the time to wait. I have thought about filing an amended return, but I don't know.

But no interview date assigned . I talked to operator and she said unfortunately they have done assigning interview dates for the month of june so I will have to wait for July dates. Question is how soon I can hear from them about the interview date? Is it June 7, that they will start to assign dates for July?

When people are behind automation, it's a double chance for things to go wrong.

I suppose that's not a slam dunk explanation. I'm inclined to think the operator is right for the sheer fact of the AVR and other automated entities being updated days after there is a telling sign of some sort of progress. To have the automated response know more than the people seems to go against the NVC grain.

Or you could take the Murphy's law route: I've already drawn the short straw for who takes it in the shorts for this month, so you're in the clear.

I think someone eluded to the best method though; expect the worst, hope for the best and verify which to believe in the upcoming days. Even if you get the dreaded RFE, I think you could still make the second week of next month which is when it seems to matter anyway.

Also Like to know when does NVC send the completed packet to Embassy, is it after they assign the interview date and then send the packet to embassy? So I can start to track the packet on DHL website.?

I just wanted to share something with you all. I'm not sure if I should post this here or in another area. I'm still trying to learn VJ So, I apologize in advance!

I just want to congratulate and thank everyone that posted or even answered questions even if you didn't but you have your time line visible it really helps! When I got stuck on something I read about another persons story or opinion or even a small mistake and I learned real quick what NVC likes and don't like. We have learned they can be picky at times about the smallest things. I am so glad I ran across VJ and I am very thankful for you all and sister aishahossam she spent many nights up all night with me. Her drinking Tea and I hit the hard stuff Red Bull and sometimes Coffee hehehe going over everything with a fine tooth comb re-writing letters and cover sheets over and over I'm not kidding I put my little 3 in 1 into shock in two weeks I went through 5 color and 11 black ink cartridges because I was trying to do it right the first time the poor thing started squealing I just wanted to share my words with you! I pray for all of you that the rest of your journeys go smoothly and you get to be with your loved ones soon!!! Good Luck to you all!!! *****S*D*****
