So you will need a small suitcase to carry your packet? I'm just kidding...you seem to be very prepared. I hope they approve you right away so that you can start your journey (again) in the U.S. with your husband. Good luck.

Thanks. I am actually wondering how I'm going to haul this stuff to Mumbai.

sachinky,

Do we have to again take all the financial evidence to the cosulate? I thought we already submitted to the NVC.

I'm presenting a new I864 at the interview since my husband has a new job that puts him over the line.

However, it is always recommended to carry a set of the documents to the interview, even if it has been submitted to NVC before.

Hay Sachi,

U have all the docs in tact, but do make sure to arrange it in such a way that u wont get confused and to be in a position to access them easily....Good luck..

Me too got some tips from ur compilation and in the process of arranging it...

Raj

I was thinking to put them in separate transparent folders and then have a contents list stapled on the front, so everything is easily accessible.

Good luck on compiling your stuff!

Looks good Sachi  I know in Manila, everything needs to be put together into small packets. They have an odd setup whereby you have to pass the packets through a slot between the counter and glass (similar to a bank slot) so each packet of evidence can be no thicker than 3/4 of an inch or so. I used the Avery, clear faced, oversized 3 tab presentation folders and made a coversheet for each of them. I'm sure it's all up over 20lbs by now (poor girl).

You definitely have all areas covered. What I did was take 2 of the expandable folders and not had the packets stapled so if they did ask for a certain document I could take it out and slide it under the glass. At the embassy in Cairo, they talk to you through a microphone which made it kind of hard to hear them.

I had 1 briefcase and 1 over the shoulder book bag full to the brim of documents and evidence and all they wanted to see was my original divorce decree from my first marriage!!!!headbonk.gifheadbonk.gif

Yes, it better to be OVER prepared!!!good.gif
