Yay! We are ready. I guess Newark gets the prize for being the slowest of slows :bonk:

Here's a funny one: I saw today that his AP and EAD were touched on 08/07 even though they were approved and received ages ago. 8/07 is also a Saturday..... My best guess is that it's the pre-interview touch and that our I-130 and 485 are no longer updating? (although no idea about Saturday) I-130 hasn't been touched according to the system since 05/10.

I don't care and am not worried... just wondering if anyone wants some brain exercise ;)

EDIT: Oh, and also, the RFE dot (which we never needed) and the interview dot are now missing.

lol yea i would go crazy sittin at home, i know wat u mean. Few days off is nice, but its like the more time i spend at home the less i do cuz i get more lazy lol.

I was looking at Mexico vacations cuz i would like to go somewhere for a week before i change my job cuz after it might be hard to get off. But im not sure if Mexico will have nice weather now, i been to cancun once but that was in December. I think September might be rainy season so would suck to go and have it rain all the time. Im soo excited!

Also Im looking for wedding dresses for our church wedding which we are planning in our home country next year. My relatives are helping me look for a nice place, which you apparently have to book a year in advance, some places the dates I want august 2011 are already booked :bonk:

I am excited and kinda scared to try on wedding dresses cuz i dont know how I will pick. Also i need to set a budget cuz we r paying for everything outselves, i think i might set a budget of 3 thousand for a dress. I would feel bad speding more for a dress I will only wear a couple of hours...

I LOVE the way these two look!!!

ohhhh I like the dresses... I've been buried with work lol... Dont like it much but its a job. Im lookin for others too.

yea finishing now would prob be a good idea cuz the longer u wait the harder it gets to go back to school. I have been out of school for like a year and a half now and thinking maybe of going back for my masters but its seems really really hard and when i think i would need to go back from work and still be doing hw I dont know how i would do it all again

btw: How old r u bessa if u dont mind me asking, cuz in 24 and when i think i would have to go back to school for another 2-3 years I am feeling kinda old already and questioning it... lol

Hope to have a kid by the time Im like 28-30 so I want to have school and be more stable positions with money.

ohh ps:: no i have never heard of filled from 8843. no idea wat it is

ok the Form 8843 was for us International students to file on the basis of being tax exempt... HOW COME NOBODY TOLD US????

Today i recieved a Welcome Notice from USCIS...WOHOOO....waiting for the green card in the mail.:dance::dance:

Congrats to you

Yey I got an email from USCIS stating card production for I-485.    I was wondering if what did you have in your welcome letter? Did you guys received a booklet (Guide for first time immigrants) on the day of your interview?

WHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO yup.... we all were to get the booklet...

How is the Pizza Hut job going? I am giving myself till the middle of September to find a job. If not, I will work some non college degree job. It is kinda of a depressing thought especially after spending so much money in college. But I need money. I might as well be miserable and making money then be miserable and broke.

Hi All :)

To make a very long story short, I will spare most of the details and summarize it all up.

I had my interview yesterday in Irving, Texas and it was a 2-hour long process. Overall, it was a really good and learning experience even though we were seperated during the interview. Our seperation was based on the lack of evidence, as well as we got married too short of a time and they just wanted to make sure there wasn't any fraud and that our marriage is real.

When she said she will be conducting a seperate interview, I felt like tearing up and my husband almost cried too. The IO who interviewed us is really good at her job. She interviewed my husband first while I waited outside. We were both asked many questions like -

1)Who lives in the house?

2)What was the last movie we watched?

3)Who pays the bill?

4)Our first date together?

5)Where did we first meet?

6)Where do we usually do our groceries shopping at?

7)The name of main intersection road where we live at.

8)What did we do on 4th of July.

9)What did we do on Valentines day

10)Number of people who attended our wedding.

11)The last time we were intimate together.

12)Have we ever go for vacations or short trip together?

Among many other questions...but no question was difficult at all that we couldn't answer. Just that we're both horrible at remembering the exact dates of events, and we roughly gave the estimation of either "2 weeks or 1 or 2 month ago" etc... :bonk:

As she concluded the end of my interview, she went out to call my husband and we were seated together in her office again. She explained to us that interview usually doesn't take as long as ours did but the fact that we lack of evidence (we pretty much only had our bank statement), that we are married such a short time upon after meeting each other and she just wanted to make sure that everything was real. She also said that the seperate interview was nothing compared to what they will drill us IF we lack of evidence (because 1 and half years is sufficient time for us to gather all evidence required to lift the conditions) when we file for my ROC.

Oh, before she seperated us for the interview, she mentioned that after the interview she will look through our application again and make a decision about our AOS and I will receive the decision via mail.

After the interviews, she said we both did pretty good during the seperate interviews, even though there were inconsistencies to some of our answers but she said she won't penalized us for it. Then, she went ahead and told us that she will APPROVED our case because everything looks good and I will receive my card in the coming weeks. She went on to explain about the conditional green card, and even wrote down on a POST-IT what we have to file and when we have to file for our ROC after my husband asked how to go about in filing the ROC. :)

As of this morning, the status for my I-485 that was always at the Acceptance status got jumped to Card/Document Production. :star:

Lastly, we really THANK GOD for being there with us during our interview. Even though the decision was up to her hands, we believe God already made the decision and planned what is ahead of us. We just have to believe in Him and have faith that everything will be okay and that He is taking care of us. =)

I worked at a fast food place during school. It seems like places like these, management seem to be completely inept. God I hope I don't have to work at places like these again, but then again I might not have a choice. Speaking of Pizza Hut, I do LOVE their stuffed crust pizza which I will be having this Friday for our movie night with my wife.

so our appointment was at 1PM in Garden city and we arrived at 12 since it was too early we went to McDonald's right next door to eat something.

we pass by security around 12:20 and drop our letter and wait to be called downstairs around 1:20 we were call to go upstairs and we wait about 15 min to be called ,the IO was an asian lady that i feel so bad to no remember her name :(

we went to her office that was full of little bonsai trees and she swore us ,she start saying my name and to see my passport and she ask me:

ok where did you guys met?

i told her the place and she was asking about (was a restaurant) and my wife was answering the questions with me she ask who attend the weeding ,if i knew her family and who support me to come to US(i came with 20 years old)and than she said that if we were married for 2 years we will get a permanent resident for 10 years and we were like wait a minute we are married for two years we just celebrate last week?!?!?and she apologize maybe she read a 9 instead of 7 on the papers...lol.

well after that we spend almost 30 min just talking to her about everything that you can imagine(world cup, trips, how long island is better than NYC...lol) she was so cool, after that she said that she is gonna stamp my passport if i need to travel and that the green card will arrive in 2 months(i know that it doesn't take that long)

i told her the place and she was asking about (was a restaurant) and my wife was answering the questions with me she ask who attend the weeding ,if i knew her family and who support me to come to US(i came with 20 years old)and than she said that if we were married for 2 years we will get a permanent resident for 10 years and we were like wait a minute we are married for two years we just celebrate last week?!?!?and she apologize maybe she read a 9 instead of 7 on the papers...lol.

well after that we spend almost 30 min just talking to her about everything that you can imagine(world cup, trips, how long island is better than NYC...lol) she was so cool, after that she said that she is gonna stamp my passport if i need to travel and that the green card will arrive in 2 months(i know that it doesn't take that long)

well that was all folks hope everybody have good interviews and wish the best for you all

no USCIS until 2020

Congrats. Wouldn't you have to deal with USCIS next year if you wanted citizenship? Or you planning on not getting it?
