For EAD, I just had my status updated to ___Current Status: Card production ordered___ ... At best I ll recieve it on or after the interview. Yupppeeeeeee....

5/8/12- I-751 Mailed

6/22/12- Early bio done, received 551 stamp

6/25/12- NOA received dated 6/21

1/29/13- Approved

Finally!! I know they didnt forget about me! so now I should get a 2nd email and then the card?

Usually takes like a week to 10 days right?!

Yay! this cheered me up a bit!! maybe now in a week or two I will get my interview letter.

And with the card I can get a SS number right? and DL? even though I am a overstay? yay!!

Finally some good news!!

oh also so I dont have to call the FBI to check now right? IF they approved the EAD the fbi checked it out and approved it obviously right?

As far as I experienced, they dont need to do background check to give out EAds. I didnt have to give finger print for my EAd before. But if you know there is nothing might come back and bite you in the ---, why have bad thoughts... :)

Background check is for I-485 and interview,not for ead.

yes but with EAD you CAN apply for SSN, then you need to show SSN and EAD to fil out the form for DL, then, if your DL from your home country is readable and you have it for several years, then they will issue you a temp DL while you wait for the driving test.

At SSA they told me to come 2 days after I applied to give me a temp SSN card with my number on it. with that i could apply for DL. I received my original SSn card within a week.

Yeap, I rushed to SSA to apply SSN right after dmv let me down. Your office is way better than mine. I can't go there after 2days to get the temp number. She FIRMLY told me wait til get in mail.

BTW, have fun in Hawaii. I love that place. :rofl: :rofl:

OMG!!! Hawai is soooooo beautifull!

After day one I'm:

-hangovered

-burned

-happy

hahahahaha!

For all of those who wonder why they produce their EAD while there interview is so near, I want to say that maybe it's not that bad considering the fact that the stamp can't give you a SSN and that the GC takes 1month to come in the mail. So just see it as a way to get started in the process of getting your administrative life in order before you get the GC!

In my case it went like that got the 1st email for ead production, then a week after 2nd email ead production, then 3 days after 3rd email approval sent, and the letter was in the mailbox 3 days after the 3rd email.

Congrats to the poeple that got ead, I letter, and GC! OMG I can't beleive that we're all almost done with that!
